GAMER.ru Quests: Part 1
If you're new to GAMER.ru - this post is for you. I will try to describe the most important quests in this game, tips for completing them, and the bonuses for doing so. If you're an old bearded gnome of XX level, then this post is an opportunity to remember what your GAMER.ru journey was like back in the distant CBT. Let's go!
Preface
Create an account. Everything here is standard: email and password fields. We activate the account via the link that arrives in your email. Next - character creation.
You can choose:
gender
age
place of birth
These fields will be visible in the brief character card that appears when you hover your mouse over posts and comments:
What about quenta? GAMER.ru is a role-playing game, so it should be present. Fill in the fields Favorite Genres, Platforms, Your System, and Contacts. Want to say more about your character? Fill in the About Yourself field.
What’s next?
1. Avatar
The first mandatory quest. To complete it, you need to reach level two. It's simple. 50 experience points are required for level 2. Registration gives you 20. Have you filled in the fields yet? Fill them out, and you’ll get another 20. You still need to gain 10 points. For each post and for each comment, you get +1. Find your favorite game; this will be useful to you, comment on posts you like, or if you have something to say, write two posts (+2 points) and make up the rest with comments. Complete!
2. Become a Viceroy
This quest is ambiguous. It's hard to say if it's too difficult or too easy. "It all depends..", as they say. However, the bonus for the quest is definitely worth the effort.
So, have you found your favorite game? If the game is in the top 10, then you have chosen a very difficult path. Without roleplaying your class (more about classes below) and support from friends, capturing the viceroy position in a popular blog is practically an impossible task. More about the "revolutions" - in the second part.
If your game is outside the top, the task becomes easier. The further from the top, the easier it will be. Enter the game blog, see the player experience scale within the blog. Find yourself there, estimate how far you are from top 1. There’s a goal, and it’s just a matter of execution.
A few tips:
To earn experience in your favorite game, you need to write. Start right now. It doesn't matter how you start. Maybe with something simple: an article about some character, your screenshots, hot news, etc. Or maybe you’ll go straight for a super-comprehensive guide to the game. Any of these options could succeed. It all depends on you.
Yes, the best option is to find a favorite game that doesn't have a viceroy yet. But even in this case, you will have to honestly fulfill your post. You won't last long "free-riding" as a viceroy; someone more cunning will replace you, make no mistake.
As a reward, you will become a little Tsar of the banana republic. You will have the opportunity to build a cozy game community of your dreams in your favorite game’s blog. You’ll be able to create your own categories, delete nonsensical posts, and show your baser qualities ;)
3. Silver > Gold > Diamonds
An interesting and not tedious repeatable quest.
Tasks:
Silver - 70 likes
Gold - 150
Diamond post - 300 likes
There are many ways to complete this. Author's text, successful copy-paste, fresh news, fan fiction, guide, post with nude girls, even if they are drawn, controversy, fan post, and basically any post, it all depends on your imagination.
An author's text will definitely be noticed. This will give you a significant bonus while completing the quest. If moderators happen to overlook your creation, don't forget to mark yourself in the special thread.
4. Class Quests
Details about classes were written by 4estor, read here.
In the game, there are three basic classes: Author, Copy-Paster, Troll. The class Reader will not be discussed; it is a casual class, and they have their own interests.
Choose a class that appeals to you and go ahead.
Author
Look for interesting, relevant topics that no one has yet written about on GAMER.ru, or that have been written but poorly or infrequently.
Development branches, in order of popularity: Writer, Artist, Director.
Writer
Write manuals, share impressions, dig up unknown facts from the archives, and present them in an interesting and unusual light. Literacy and language skills are highly appreciated. Insert your own screenshots; knowledge of Photoshop is a plus. If you don’t have your own pictures, go to Google and take them from there, preferably not from the first page of the results.
Artist
Draw comics, user bars, avatars, wallpapers. Again, knowledge of Photoshop will help you.
Director
Upload videos made by yourself. These can be manuals, VODs, cuts of online games with funny moments, etc.
The Author's path is interesting but labor-intensive for development.
Copy-Paster
Look for constantly updating news sites. Our goal is to get the news from there among the first.
To do this:
Set up RSS.
Create an account on Twitter.
In Twitter, find accounts of game development companies, news sites, and portals. Follow them. Gain +10 speed.
Knowledge of English is a big plus!
The algorithm is as follows: Get a new news item in your RSS reader or on Twitter. Found it on GAMER.ru? Too bad, you’re too late :( Didn’t find it? Lucky you! Quickly create a new post, paste the text of the news, and link to the source. That's it, click create. You have another 15 minutes to format the text and insert an image or video.
The fun of being a Copy-Paster... is probably real. The early bird gets the worm :) "A repeat" is punishable by having your posts deleted into the blog's trash by the viceroy and receiving unpleasant feedback in comments.
Troll
Any recommendations here are unnecessary. The path of trolls is a special one. The dark side of the Force sustains them; if you’ve chosen this path, you don’t need anyone’s advice.
I’ll give a sharp quote found in the vastness of the Russian Internet:
"Professional troll - a cyber-ninja of modernity, a mercenary, cold-blooded and calculating, an apparition stirring minds and exploding the languid pastoral of quiet life on provincial forums. A sought-after profession, a young profession, and there is a critical shortage of professionals."
Bonuses - unreal fun, non-boring character development, a crowd of fans.
But there are drawbacks - an equally large crowd of haters. Your inbox will be spammed with comments and personal messages from GAMER.ru.
And that’s a brief overview of the classes.
What about multiclassing? It’s possible! Everything is in your hands.
End of part 1 :)
The idea was to write a comprehensive **post about quests**, but for one post, it turned out to be too much text. Let's vote, should I post the second part or not.
