Beta Tester Experiences

After three weeks of waiting, I received the key to the closed beta test (CBT). I had to give the administration a little nudge on the forum and Twitter. I'm leveling up to level 15 and want to share my impressions of the game just before my vacation.

1. World

It's there :) And it looks very nice:

These are the bandits you'll have to eliminate for quests.

A screenshot of the third location, intended for levels 9-12. Below is the same screenshot, with comments on the interface:

In CBT, the world is very small, but it's alive. Beautifully drawn, I swear. Not a masterpiece, but it’s made with love. The graphics are a bit cartoonish; you’ll either like them right away or not at all. I liked them :)

Characters display the equipped items, and different races have different skill animations. So, a human mage and a ratman mage cast fireballs differently.

In general, what can I say, it’s better to see it for yourself.

2. Mobs

Speaking of level one mobs. In Magic, they are called Eshis - spiky mutated balls of different colors and sizes. Art from the bestiary:

You will have to kill a lot of them while leveling up. The developers are of course aware of this (see the response option below):

Single mobs are easily killed solo. Groups of mobs, indicated by a red circle over their heads, may require assistance from allies.

Once again about Eshis. New players might find them tough at first. These mobs have the tendency to "kite" the player, meaning they shoot from a distance and retreat out of skill range, constantly running around the location. Therefore, I recommend approaching the mob closely so it can’t escape due to "binding".

3. Quests

The most interesting part.

At the beginning of the game, players arrive at a training ground for newbies. Classic quests like "go fight the dummies", "kill 10 level 1 mobs", and the first briefing with retired soldier Gronis.

The game has familiar quests like "kill 10 mobs", "bring 5 ears from mobs", but that’s not all. There are tasks like "do a good deed for old man Piston, find some item". Items are usually scattered across locations, or they drop from something, or both at once. Or "run to the other end of the world" as practice. Done running? Run again, rookie! :)

I highly recommend reading the texts during the open beta test (OBT), not in search of typos, but just for enjoyment. I liked the quest chain with Khemith.

Khemith is an entomologist with quite a strange appearance who arrived at the Plot with the aim of... capturing Kaif! The butterfly, that is, very rare and valuable.

Quest descriptions are five-star:

First, we look for a suitable net:

Kaif is very easy to lose. It seems we've caught it, and then it flies away immediately.

Kaif in the pocket, enjoying:

4. PvE

Currently, there are 3 dungeons available in the game, which are regularly cleared by players, especially the second one with Gozhas as the main boss. Video of the kill is available in the adjacent post by marisha.

For the third dungeon, the required number of players is not always available, a good "tank" is needed, preferably two, and strong mages for mass AOE. The second dungeon is easily cleared even with level 10 in the group, provided there’s one well-equipped warrior.

5. PvP

PvP is currently limited to tournaments at the Arena. However, the developers promise that this is just a "stopgap" for the CBT and they promise to "surprise and delight" us in the release.

By the way, currently the strongest items in the game are purchased with ovins and tokens earned at the Arena.

6. Clans, Community

They are promised to appear in the release, with a clan development system, hierarchy within the clan, and competitions between clans. There is no specific information yet; the developers are intriguingly silent.

7. Community

There are not many players in CBT. However, I am in the last, third wave, and the veterans have already reached OBT and lost interest. During prime time, exactly one arena team is formed, which is 8 people of levels 12-15, and a few younger players.

But a huge plus is that everyone knows each other by face, forming a group for dungeons goes quickly, no one fights (almost :)), and you can trade necessary gear or "make arrangements" at the arena. All in the name of testing!

I hope that my post will attract new people to the Open Beta Test, and the game will become even more interesting.

update

I returned from vacation :)

Thank you all very much for the feedback; I did not expect it, I swear!

And special thanks to the administration for the unique amulet. Here’s what it looks like:
