Not all kids grow up to be good boys and mommy's little darlings, far from it. Many children constantly bully, fight, swear, and skip classes, which causes a sea of indignation from unfortunate moms and dads. Some parents stoically endure the antics of their children, hoping that they will grow up and stop their tyranny, but others lose all hope of ever reforming their little monsters. This is also the case for the protagonist of the game Bully: Scholarship Edition, named Jimmy Hopkins, who was sent to a boarding school by his not-so-nurturing mother.
Jimmy has been expelled from various educational institutions multiple times, but one can understand him – he grew up without a father, and his mother behaves quite frivolously (constantly getting married and going off on yet another honeymoon). In any case, Jimmy finds himself face to face with the harsh realities of Bullworth Academy – early mornings, boring classes, angry teachers, and troublesome students. Any other troubled teenager would have lost all hope of ever escaping school, but not Jimmy – hardened in street fights and idleness, he decided to establish his own rules of mischief at the academy, for which he earned the nickname "bully."
The story of the game dates back to October 2006, when Rockstar Games released Bully (just Bully, without any Scholarship Edition) for the PlayStation 2. A year and a half later, a special edition of Bully was released, which differed from the original version with slightly improved graphics and a new set of missions. And newer platforms were chosen – Wii, Xbox 360, and then Microsoft Windows (October 2008). The game received quite high ratings from various authoritative gaming publications for its well-developed game world and some similarity to the GTA series. Of course, the scale isn't the same; you can't drive cars, and there's no bloody violence (after all, there are kids here), but the game turned out to be very, very interesting nevertheless.
As everyone has probably already figured out, Jimmy Hopkins (somewhat resembling a grown-up Bobby Hill from the animated series "King of the Hill") did not become the model student of Bullworth Academy but rather ventured into all sorts of mischief. If he attends classes, it’s only to cause trouble and wreak havoc. At other times, he wanders around, skateboards, shoots a slingshot, climbs trees, and engages in various mischief. Sometimes he fights, sometimes he escapes beyond the academy’s territory and roams the surroundings, often getting into trouble.
In Bully: Scholarship Edition, there is its own storyline that tells of the rivalry between various teenage groups and gangs. Like any self-respecting bully, Jimmy wants to earn the respect of the leaders of the "schoolyard" squads, and then bask in the glory. However, this does not always succeed, which is why Jimmy Hopkins often gets beaten up by one group or another. Naturally, the young troublemaker is also drawn to the opposite sex, but here too he often encounters failures.
Thus lives the bully and unruly teenager Jimmy “Bully” Hopkins – busy with affairs and woes. Will he manage to earn fame and honor among his peers? Perhaps he will find a girlfriend and take the right path? You will find out as soon as you complete Bully: Scholarship Edition.
