Chaos of Deponia is a computer game in the genre of classic quests from the German studio Daedalic Entertainment. In the localized version, Chaos of Deponia is presented as "Deponia 2: Explosive Adventure". The publisher of the game in Russia is the company "1C-SoftClub". The release of Chaos of Deponia took place in the fall of 2012.
Chaos of Deponia is a direct continuation of the beloved quest Deponia, and this game is the second part of the illustrated trilogy chronicling the adventures of Rufus and his girlfriend Goal. The action of Chaos of Deponia still takes place on the polluted, filthy, and cluttered planet called Deponia, and Rufus - the main character of the game - does not give up on his attempts to escape from it. It doesn't matter where and how, although for the loser and jester Rufus, all of this is quite important - he passionately desires to get to Elysium - a beautiful celestial city, home to his beloved Goal. There, food is delicious, life is peaceful, and people wear clean clothes - how could one not strive for this?
However, there is another important reason that forces Rufus and Goal to devise yet another adventure from the "get to Elysium - attempt 1345" series. The fact is that the inhabitants of Elysium want to destroy Deponia, as they believe that no creatures can live on the planet - it's full of garbage, spilled chemicals, and contaminated soil. And to be honest, the appearance of the planet is not particularly presentable - in short, Deponia irritates Elysium, and that's that. The only person who could save Deponia from destruction is Goal - a girl who accidentally ended up in the rusty and dirty world from the beautiful and airy Elysium. If she returns to her homeland, the inhabitants of Elysium will believe that there is life on Deponia, and then a global catastrophe will be avoided. It's a good plan, but Rufus, at the most critical moment, again finds himself in a pickle - he breaks the implant that is in the head of the red-haired girl. Goal, naturally, malfunctions, and ultimately she develops schizophrenic tendencies along with a split (and even triple) personality. Rufus, gathering all his willpower, takes on the mission of saving Deponia on his frail shoulders.
In fact, if you haven't played the first part of Deponia, you will still figure out the second game in the trilogy. But it's best, of course, to start your acquaintance with the series from the first Deponia, otherwise there will occasionally be issues with understanding the plot. Although Chaos of Deponia is quite similar to its predecessor in almost every way. In this quest from Daedalic Entertainment, you can still skip mini-games if they pose certain difficulties for the player. The gameplay itself has not changed - you need to move the characters between locations, search for and collect items, combine various things, and chat with certain characters. The signature German humor (yes, it exists) that many gamers loved Deponia for is still here. The graphics in Chaos of Deponia are magnificent, the voice acting and music are top-notch, but there are some drawbacks. Some quests and puzzles are very difficult or even impossible to complete, and there are logical issues with carrying out certain actions.
