TES IV: Oblivion is a legendary role-playing game from Bethesda, the fourth installment in The Elder Scrolls series. The action of the game unfolds in Cyrodiil, where we must become its protector. The world of The Elder Scrolls is, as always, open for exploration: from the snowy mountains at the border with Skyrim to the hot shores of the Abesinian Sea. There are about ten cities in the game, each unique, including the Imperial City, the capital of a vast empire. A huge number of small settlements, taverns, and farms are scattered throughout Cyrodiil. About a hundred diverse caves and abandoned forts can be found, where various artifacts lie.
As before, the main character is a prisoner who is lucky enough to escape to freedom. The main plot begins when the emperor, before his death, entrusts us with his amulet, which we must deliver to his illegitimate son. Along the way, we will visit Oblivion, where Mehrunes Dagon, the lord of destruction, intends to lead his army to Tamriel and destroy it. In addition to the main story, Oblivion offers us a variety of guilds to choose from. Do you like cutting enemies with a sword? Welcome to the Fighters Guild! Prefer to use magic? The Mages Guild will gladly accept a talented sorcerer! Love killing and listening to death throes? The Dark Mother will hear about this and offer you to join the Dark Brotherhood! Or maybe you enjoy stealing? The Thieves Guild, with its secrets, is ready to welcome any worthy individual! Along with various guilds throughout Cyrodiil, you will find numerous quests that will never let you get bored. In short, any player will find something interesting in this game. Don't forget about the powerful modding tools provided by the developers. Thanks to The Elder Scrolls Construction Set, anyone can create a plugin that adds something new to their favorite game. Because of this, today we have an incredible number of diverse modifications, both large and small, which prevent the game from fading into obscurity. Despite the game being released in the distant 2006, many people still play it today, and new plugins are still being released. The amount of fan content is mind-boggling; there’s enough to fill several new full-fledged games!
Of course, the developers haven't been idle either, having released two full-fledged expansions: Shivering Isles and The Knights of the Nine, whose storylines are perhaps even more engaging than the original game. Thus, Oblivion was and remains an excellent game whose world can captivate a player for a very long time.
