Gears of War 3 is a third-person shooter developed by Epic Games. It was published by Microsoft Game Studios. Gears of War 3 was released exclusively for Xbox 360. This is the final game in the Gears of War series, telling the story of Marcus Fenix's adventures.
In the game's storyline, the war against the Locust does not cease for a moment. A year and a half has passed since the destruction of the last human city, but humanity's troubles are far from over. Something terrible and horrifying is happening beneath the Earth's crust, and new threats of infection are emerging. The remnants of humanity are scattered around the world, waging a relentless battle against the invaders. Time is running out, and Marcus and his comrades return to the fight. The Locust, which plagued Marcus during the previous two games, is now an endangered species. Now, the Lambent, or Locust mutated by an alien infection, take center stage. Marcus and his battle squad must navigate through hordes of enemies to save the surviving humans and find his father, who is languishing in captivity.
What can be noted about the new features? Firstly, a cooperative mode for four players has been introduced. Playing Gears of War has become even more fun. Secondly, female soldiers have been included in the game, including the heroine Alicia Valera. Overall, the new heroes add some variety to the game. At certain moments in the game, players will be able to control not only Marcus but also some other characters. Additionally, in Gears of War 3, players will be able to try out new types of previously unseen weaponry.
Enemies have also changed. Players will gradually have to say goodbye to the familiar Locust. New enemies are making their debut, for whom considerably more ammunition is needed. Overall, the game has become faster, more dynamic, and bloodier. There will be both new, imaginative bosses, and familiar Brumaks from previous games in the series. Compared to Gears of War 2, the scale of battles has somewhat decreased. No more than ten enemies can attack Marcus and his soldiers at once, allowing players to focus on select opponents and enjoy tearing apart enemies at their leisure.
As this is the final part of the trilogy about Marcus Fenix, a completely new story and new game characters can be expected in the future. There is almost no doubt that Gears of War 4 (or whatever the game will be called) will be released in the foreseeable future. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the announcement, while enjoying the bloody mayhem in Gears of War 3.
