Grand Theft Auto V is an action video game played from a third-person perspective, developed by Rockstar North. The worldwide publisher is Rockstar Games. The publisher in Russia is “1C-SoftClub.” The game was released in September 2013.
Grand Theft Auto V is a continuation of the famous gaming series beloved by millions of players worldwide. The events of GTA V take place in a city called Los Santos, which fans of the franchise may have already encountered in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. But it’s not just Los Santos. In GTA V, players can discover a wealth of rural areas, forests, fields, and mountains, expansive bodies of water, beaches, deserts, and more. There are small settlements and towns, but except for Los Santos, there are no large metropolises in Grand Theft Auto V. Nevertheless, the world of GTA V is larger than any other game from Rockstar Games released before 2013. Even if you combine the maps of San Andreas, GTA IV, and Red Dead Redemption within one territory, the area of the last would still be smaller than in GTA V.
Players have access to a multitude of activities that can entertain and distract from the main storyline. Want to ride a jet ski? Sure. Feel like playing tennis? No problem. Golf, yoga, base jumping, skydiving, various hobbies – there’s just so much to do. There’s even diving, which is a unique feature of GTA V. Gamers can plunge into the depths of the ocean to explore its beauty, search for treasures, caches, and hideouts, or complete specific quests. Speaking of quests, Grand Theft Auto V is literally filled with them, and many of them are presented as random events. Additionally, in GTA V, one can rob banks, armored vehicles, and other “currency” objects. In fact, robbery is the central theme in Rockstar's creation, which makes sense – the game is dedicated to none other than the “workers of the knife and axe.” More precisely, to the advocates of the pistol and machine gun.
There are three main characters in Grand Theft Auto V, which is yet another unique feature of the game. The ringleader is Michael – a forty-year-old robber who once made a living through heists but has since retired. Until a certain point, of course. The second character is Trevor – a former pilot and old friend of Michael, who is also a drug addict and alcoholic, an unstable and antisocial personality. The third protagonist is Franklin – a car enthusiast and petty thief who gradually turns into a hardened gangster as the game progresses. Such a colorful group has come together to pull off a big score. But how to manage all of them? It’s simple. Switching between heroes is done with the press of a button: if they are far from each other (at different locations on the world map), the camera elevates and moves the player to the spot where the selected character is, and if the buddies are nearby – for example, while carrying out another mission – then the immersion into the skin of a chosen protagonist happens instantaneously.
As mentioned earlier, much in Grand Theft Auto V revolves around heists, which are implemented in a very interesting way. The thing is, you cannot just go and do the job – first, you need to go through several stages of preparation: plan the operation, gather equipment, and if the mission is supposed to be complex, bring in external characters as helpers. Yes, it’s not as simple as it seems. Also, it should be noted that in Grand Theft Auto V, there are several types of heists, some of which can be completed at once, while others can stretch over several operations, taking up a lot of time and effort. But what a joy it is to see through to the end - words cannot describe.
