“King’s Bounty: Crossroads of Worlds” is a very high-quality expansion for the wonderful RPG from the domestic studio Katauri Interactive. The release of “King’s Bounty: Crossroads of Worlds” took place in September 2010. The edition included the campaign “Orc's Campaign” and two additional storylines: “Crown Defender” and “Arena Champion.” A map editor was also introduced in the game. To launch “Crossroads of Worlds,” you need to have “King’s Bounty: Princess in Armor” installed on your computer.
So, what can “King’s Bounty: Crossroads of Worlds” offer to players? First of all, the engaging campaign “Orc's Campaign.” The plot is as follows: the evil orc leader named Red Snatcher seeks to gain complete power, not through the usual orcish methods (burning, destruction, annihilation, etc.), but through a special source, as ancient as the world itself, which can bestow immeasurable strength upon its possessor. Some orcs set out on a campaign with Snatcher, but the rest, realizing what could happen if the orcess achieves her goal, decide to turn to humans for help. A new great battle looms, where the fate of the world will be decided. It’s worth noting that along with this campaign, new creatures, spells, and abilities for creatures and heroes have been introduced in the game.
The campaign “Arena Champion” tells the story of a mercenary named Arthur, who decides to seek glory in the gladiatorial arena. He certainly wishes to show off his youthful bravado, but the main reason for his entrance into the arena is a deal with a crafty merchant. According to the terms of the agreement, Arthur is not only obligated to defeat all the monstrous champions but must also bring the merchant the Champion's Belt. Naturally, fighting gigantic monsters (which are bosses from previous parts of King’s Bounty) in proud heroic solitude is a bit strange, so Arthur gathers an army of companions to help him defeat the terrifying creatures. This campaign also introduces unique enemy heroes, new skills, and guilds.
In the campaign “Crown Defender,” players can once again meet the charming princess Amelie. The warrior who killed Baal and saved the world from complete destruction returns to her homeland to rest and relax. A commendable wish, but unattainable – she needs to learn. She must learn to be the Crown Defender. Amelie must prove to her stern mentors that she is worthy of such an honorable title, but to do so, she will have to go through difficult trials, where she might even perish.
As mentioned above, developers have introduced a campaign editor with an expanded toolkit. With it, you can not only create locations, place buildings and enemies but also implement your ideas regarding the storyline.
