Medal of Honor: Warfighter is a multiplatform first-person shooter video game developed by Danger Close. It is globally published by Electronic Arts, with EA Russia as the publisher in Russia. The game was released in late October 2012.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter continues the story of brave fighters from the U.S. Tier 1 unit. The special operations team faces a new threat from the Islamist separatist group "Abu Sayyaf," which is planning terrible terrorist attacks worldwide. The terrorists' main weapon is pentrite—a powerful explosive substance. To prevent the villains' cunning plans from coming to fruition, U.S. Tier 1 operators launch a preemptive strike on Abu Sayyaf's bases. Operations take place in various countries: Yemen, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, the territory of former Yugoslavia, and even the Philippines.
In Medal of Honor: Warfighter, players will once again encounter familiar heroes from Medal of Honor (2010): Voodoo, Preacher, Mother, Dingo, and others. New characters have also appeared, such as the operative nicknamed Stamp (Pine), who can be played in a solo mission. However, the main character remains Preacher, who takes part in the most dangerous and audacious operations.
Thanks to the Frostbite 2 engine, Medal of Honor: Warfighter features beautiful graphics and a realistic destruction system: bullets and shells leave marks on walls, and wooden structures splinter from gunfire. Naturally, we should also note the stunning special effects that the campaign of Medal of Honor: Warfighter is literally packed with.
In addition to an engaging single-player mode (the developers infused the game with elements of drama through special video inserts), Medal of Honor: Warfighter also offers an exciting multiplayer. A key feature of the multiplayer game is the presence of real-life special operations units from the USA, Poland, Russia, Norway, South Korea, and other countries. The game includes 12 units from ten nations, as well as over seventy unique fighter models.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter features six combat classes, each with different weapons and unique abilities: Assault, Demolition, Machine Gunner, Sniper, Special Forces, and Spotter. The Assault class, for example, can use a handheld grenade launcher when fighting superior enemy forces, while the Spotter can load especially powerful rounds into their weapon, and the Special Forces operator has the ability to activate a special radar that allows them to detect enemies hiding in cover or buildings.
Another feature of the multiplayer mode in Medal of Honor: Warfighter is the division of the unit into so-called fire teams. Each ten-person unit is split into five groups of two. This is done to enhance interaction levels among team members. A partner, for instance, is always marked with a green marker, making it possible to see them even behind the thickest walls. Additionally, you can respawn next to your group mate after death.
