The peoples of the planet now float separately from each other, while an ocean looms over them, enveloping the shattered world whose fate hangs by a thread. Two rival forces are vying for power. The first is the Syndicate, which has monopolized the poorly understood powerful technology based on mysterious minerals of Korrona they control. The second is the Sovereign, advocating a return to the nearly lost teachings of the ancients found in the forbidden Nyuman folios.

You play as Rin, the daughter of Syndicate scientist Lou D'Llora, who disappears shortly after revealing a conspiracy to starve the inhabitants of Nyumen. In search of your father, you will meet many interesting Nyumanians — both friends and foes.
