South Park: The Game is a humorous RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, where players can meet their favorite characters from the famous animated series. The game was developed with the involvement of well-known personalities such as Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The creators of South Park were responsible for the script and voice acting of the characters, as well as overseeing the overall development of South Park: The Game. What makes this game so noteworthy? Firstly, the atmosphere of South Park has been preserved - the game features a large amount of dark humor, satire, and profanity. This is not South Park Rally or South Park: Chef's Luv Shack, which turned out to be rather mediocre projects, but a full-fledged game in the spirit of old good South Park.
South Park: The Game lets us play as a new character. You can choose your appearance and define your class. You can become a wizard, paladin, thief, or adventurer. Additionally, there is another class that was created with direct involvement from the “big-boned” Eric Cartman. Guess what kind of character a mean and nasty fatso, being a staunch anti-Semite and racist, could come up with. The plot of South Park: The Game is based on the principles of role-playing games, which we saw in episode 13 of season 6 titled "Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers." There, the kids dressed up as wizards, knights, and thieves, and Kyle was given a unique class - “Jew.”
In South Park: The Game, the group of valiant “heroes” must complete various missions and tasks, which are mostly invented, fight monsters and enemies, embark on quests, and engage in many other interesting activities. By the way, battles in South Park: The Game are turn-based. The player makes a move, after which it is the opponent's turn. Winning against an enemy awards money, potions, and other useful artifacts. Additionally, the player gains experience. During the battle, you can enhance the attack or defense of your chosen character. Moreover, players will be allowed to endow their weapons, whether it be a sword or a crossbow, with various magical properties. And as the culmination of the entire event - you can "summon" a character to assist you.
To keep up with events happening in South Park: The Game, your hero is given a phone/smartphone/communicator. The main useful feature of the gadget is the ability to enter a sort of social network, where the player can keep track of their friends and foes.
Despite the fact that South Park: The Game uses the game engine from Dungeon Siege 3, the game is almost two-dimensional (this is done to preserve the atmosphere of the animated series). Moreover, the creators of the famous satirical cartoon provided the developers with a wealth of materials to which they could refer.
