Steel Artery is a city-building simulator set in a steampunk fantasy world. Your task is to create a thriving city on wheels, where each car is a new piece of infrastructure, and every decision shapes the lives of thousands of residents.
Once, the Empire constructed the legendary Steelpolis—a colossal train that showcased the technological power, economic dominance, and might of the Empire. It traversed vast provinces, maintaining order and collecting tribute. But now, the Imperial treasury is empty, the lands are fragmented, and the infrastructure stands on the brink of collapse. To save it, the Emperor revives an abandoned project—and you are appointed the mayor of this revived city on rails.
A Living World on Wheels
Unlike classic city-building games, you don't give direct orders. Citizens are autonomous, driven by their needs and choices. They work, eat, rest, and spend money based on circumstances. A worker might refuse to work if it's too far away, quit after earning enough gold, or completely switch professions. You act as the Mayor of the city and provide opportunities—they build their lives.
Multi-Racial Colonies
Humans, elves, orcs, and other races bring unique needs and values to your train. They form relationships, have their needs, and personalities. If you only cater to the needs of one race, this can quickly lead to conflict among settlers of different groups, and in some cases, even cannibalism. Managing such diverse communities is as important as expanding the economy.
Economy and Logistics
Each building produces or consumes resources. Workers need salaries, inns charge fees for rest, and diners require payment for food. For the city to thrive, you must stop in resource-rich regions, gather everything necessary, and carefully plan the placement of cars.
