Akella as always, or unboxing the collector's edition of Assassin's Creed: Revelations
The release turned out surprisingly terrible even for Akella, and it’s not just about the disgusting bracelet that ended up being made of cheap leatherette instead of the promised genuine leather; it’s about the attitude of Russian publishers towards their customers. We look on and feel 'touched'...
The box is a complete analogue of the Blood Brotherhood Arcania and a couple of other games.
We open it and see something shapeless and gray wrapped in a bag.
Upon closer inspection, it turns out to be a t-shirt. In the photo, its color looks okay, but in reality, it's similar to a faded floor rag. I’m not trying it on because it doesn’t fit... Size about 48.
Under the t-shirt, we see the not-so-rich content of the edition...
This is everything that occupies the box, not counting the t-shirt, everything else just rattled around inside like a tangerine in ice...
The art book is a tiny booklet where screenshots measuring 3x2 cm are found; there’s little pleasure from it, and it’s divided into 2 parts (some of the art has been included in the user manual O_O)
A brochure with a code for additional materials - There's zero use from this material, though the sword of the Avatar might come in handy, but that’s not certain (I, for example, passed the whole game using only hidden blades, a crossbow, and long-range devices, but that’s a matter of taste). The armor of the Turkish assassin and Altair's clothing are merely models to dress the character in, and there’s no real value in them. The characters for online play aren’t great either, but again, it’s a matter of taste; some prefer to play as a fool...
What I did like was the movie Embers, perfectly voiced and with audio tracks in 8 languages. But here too, Akella decided to save and put the disc in an envelope that seems (given the quality of the print) printed on an ordinary printer. They could have at least made the envelope out of cardboard, but apparently, greed prevails...
The contents of the little box...
The box for the disc (despite Akella's solemn assurances on their forum that they have abandoned cardboard boxes and switched to standard plastic) is made of cardboard, uncomfortable, and always opens up.
The user manual takes up 11 pages, followed by the art...
A disc with the soundtrack... only 2 tracks from Revelation, the rest are from previous parts.
The bracelet...
Made of leatherette, the buckle seems to be either tin or lead or possibly their alloy - pewter; it bends at the slightest pressure, is unevenly polished (it has circular polishing marks), the stamping is crooked (one side is stamped harder than the other), and everything is glued on crookedly. In general, the bracelet went straight to the trash...
And here’s how all 3 discs look like.
Now about the localization... The cast is well selected, the dubbing is at a high level, but... I almost fell off my chair when, in Istanbul, the herald started yelling at residents not to take stones from the coliseum O_O In general, this is again the banal economy of Akella on players...
P.S. I’ll add screenshots of the art book later, for now, the scanner is in repair...
