"Comic Con Igromir" 2025: a very brief photo report of the third day.
Good day, everyone! Despite the "cold" experience of the previous day, on the third day I decided to go early again. The funniest part was that when I arrived at the venue an hour and a half before the start time, the same people from the day before were already in front of me, and soon others showed up behind who had been there yesterday too! But that's not the most surprising part.
The most surprising part: two and a half hours before the general entrance opened, there were already several people around it! Not a large crowd, but in the cold! What being first does to people… We stood there chatting, freezing, as more people arrived; suddenly, the door opened, a security guard stepped out and announced: "So you won't have to stand in the cold, we are letting you into the hall!" The crowd applauded and shouted "Hooray!".
From there, it was quite easy to wait for the entry: in the warmth, we chatted, exchanged tips on where to rush first. I immediately headed to the shooting range for energy drinks: on that day, if you hit five out of ten, you could get an instant package of twelve cans. (But I should have hurried to another place, the "World of Ships", as advised in the queue.) It’s best to come to such events for at least two days: on the first day, you find what interests you most; on the second day, you rush to that place before anyone else.
I walked around, taking photos of things I hadn’t shot before. Here, compare how it was in the morning and what it became in the afternoon (on the second floor):
There, on the second floor - "Author's Alley"; in the morning you can still see something without pushing too much.
Despite the early hour, the masters of "Warhammer 40,000" were at their posts.
It seems that on the first floor they were training and recruiting staff for "Yandex Delivery".
I still headed to the "World of Ships", where there was already a considerable queue: I waited almost two hours to get to the helm.
I’m a poor captain: I fired all the torpedoes at an enemy ship that was already sinking, rammed an island with a battleship… In short, I failed to inflict the required amount of damage and ended up without a hoodie. (Later I saw recommendations online: don’t steer, just shoot, otherwise you won’t make it! Too late…)
However, at the "Igromania" booth, I met with the editors of the magazine and chatted a bit.
And just in time for the cosplay contest… Unfortunately, they never managed to set up proper lighting on stage.
Cosplayers have no choice: they have to perform in the conditions they are given.
Completely unexpectedly, the Sun came to help the next performers! And illuminated the stage as those responsible for the light should have done. It seems the next shot became the best of the day.
And then something terrible happened: my camera's memory card failed; I didn't have a backup... (This is why it’s a "very brief" photo report!) While I tried to fix it, I missed a number of performances and a chance to take decent shots.
In frustration, I stood in line for an hour at the shooting range and finally got a package of energy drink. (I’m a little better shooter than a ship captain.) The time was getting closer to evening, and the number of visitors was not decreasing: there’s a whole year until the next “Igromir”, so I needed to get as many impressions as possible! And “loot”, of course!
And that’s how my “Igromir” ended... See you next year, “Igromir” - we will be waiting! Good luck to you all!
