Girls from the Mafia II presentation at the Persona Grat club according to Softclub
I couldn't resist copying the news from SoftClub; I liked the girls very much, so...
Last Tuesday, August 24, 2010, a closed VIP party took place in Moscow, dedicated to the upcoming release of Mafia II — the most anticipated gangster game of the year.
At 7:00 PM, as the heavy clouds covered the Moscow sky, stylishly dressed people in sharp suits and black hats began to gather at the Persona Grata club. Thus began the secret meeting of the Empire Bay gangsters! After showing the invitation and saying the password, the best people in the city entered the club, where entertainment awaited them in all flavors. Some grabbed a cue and headed for the billiard table, some rushed to the bar, while others, mischievously winking at their accomplices, headed to a special room where games of tabletop "Mafia" were held. The most devoted fans of the series confidently marched to the 3D Vision room to the 3D Ready monitors and Meijin computers, on which Mafia II was already installed three days before the official launch. Everyone present could evaluate the full Russian version of the game, not just in the regular version, but also in stereo mode. The partygoers were magnetically drawn to the stand with the Meijin Liquid Edition computer, on which NVIDIA had deployed the 3D Vision Surround system: the immersive image was displayed on three monitors at once. This high-tech device, like a time machine, instantly transported club visitors to America in the 1940s-50s and allowed them to feel like part of that world.
Starting at eight o'clock, the action moved to the hall with a stage, where the assembled gangsters could showcase their knowledge of their craft. The party hosts organized numerous contests, puzzling the audience with questions from mafia history — both in-game and real. It's funny that after the question "What is the full name of the boss from the original game?" only one hand was raised. Yes, everyone remembers Don Salieri, but his name Ennio had somehow faded from memory over the eight years.
Before officially presenting the long-awaited Mafia II to the guests, the hosts asked everyone gathered to ceremoniously bid farewell to the first part. Holding back tears, the stern mafiosi and their elegant partners said goodbye to the game, watching nostalgic clips on the screen. But there was no time to be sad because Mafia II followed the first part! The touching farewell was replaced by contests in which participants were invited not only to show their wit but also to try their hand at localization by dubbing a video. Winners were awarded with excellent equipment from KOSS and Ritmix, as well as stylish gadget cases from Golla.
The evening ended with rousing rock-n-roll performed live. The gangsters and their charming companions danced throughout the concert! By the way, the appearance of musicians on stage was not accidental. The band's vocalist, Pyotr Salnikov, and backing vocalist, Alexandra Verkhoshanskaya, participated in the voiceover of Mafia II.
See you on the streets of Empire Bay!
