A major expansion called Nomads and a free update have been released for the space 4X strategy game Stellaris.
Paradox Interactive announces the release of the first expansion of the tenth season of the sci-fi strategy Stellaris. This major DLC is called Nomads, and in it, players will forget about borders and colonization – instead, they will embark on a long journey through the galaxy on a huge upgradable ark ship. On the path to prosperity, they will need to establish interstellar trade routes, earn the favor of partners, increase their influence, sign contracts, and gather resources.
Key features of Stellaris: Nomads:
- Nomadic Empires. You can now create states that are not interested in conquering star systems and colonizing worlds. Instead, their inhabitants will wander through space on a giant ark ship, which will become their main settlement.
- Ark Ship. The capital, cradle of civilization, and fortress. This engineering marvel can and must be continuously improved, as it will replace worlds for your state. Three classes of ships are offered, reflecting the government's vision.
- Military. A mobile flagship designed for combat operations.
- Scientific. A nomadic laboratory whose inhabitants seek to unravel the mysteries of the galaxy.
- Civilian. An industrial complex with exceptional resource-gathering capabilities.
- Route Network. By building route stations, you can create permanent interstellar trade routes along which traders gather and sell resources. These routes will serve not only nomads but also settled empires, allowing the nomadic state to occupy a central place in the galactic trade system.
- Contract System. You can now fulfill commissions from other states to earn favors, resources, and influence.
- New Origins
- Deep Dwellers. A standard origin for nomadic states. Provides a wide range of opportunities at the start of the game, allowing you to determine the fate of your nomadic empire.
- Heirs of the Khan. Playing as the heir of a fallen Khan, you must rely on cunning and bribery while escaping from the assassins pursuing you until you are strong enough to reclaim the throne.
- Sacred Path. You need to lead a fleet of pilgrims through the galaxy, visiting places that were sacred to your ancestors. This is a great journey of faith-driven wanderers.
- Endless Cruise. A society divided into two parts: on one side – a spoiled elite craving new entertainments and views from observation decks, on the other – a crew exhausted by hard work, without whom this paradise would cease to exist.
- New Ambition: “Galactic Defender.” Ambitions are achievements that a state strives for. They can significantly influence the final stages of the game. While the ambition “Become a Crisis” (available in Stellaris: Nemesis) allows you to become a threat to the galaxy, “Galactic Defender” gives you the chance to take on the role of its savior. For this, you will need to lead a fleet of hero ships and challenge the dangers that threaten all existence. Then, after victory, make a choice that will forever engrave your accomplishments in history.
- Star Gun. Supplying the civilization with energy is important but boring. It is much more pleasant to unleash it on your enemies! This late-game megastructure will allow you to focus all the energy reserves of the empire into a devastating beam that can strike enemy systems across the galaxy.
- Channel “Champion's Forge.” In this nomadic enclave, players will experience the grandest spectacles! You can take on the challenge and participate in the gladiatorial battles of fleets from all over the galaxy. The winner receives a trophy relic and fame, while the defeated can only envy.
- New famous ideal leaders among nomads
- New civilian models and traditions
Along with the expansion Nomads, a free update 4.4 ‘Pegasus’ is released for all players. It adds new possibilities for entering and exiting wars, significantly improves the professional employment system, updates the battle log interface, enhances performance, fixes bugs, and introduces many other enhancements.
