GAMER LIVE 2011 TO BE!
Friends, greetings to everyone who has the bad habit of visiting our beloved Gamer.ru every day, as well as to those who have stumbled upon this post by pure chance.
I come to you with good news – spring has finally arrived, hooray, comrades! The May holidays are around the corner, barbecues are in the air, which somewhat hints to us that summer is not far away and its main quest – GAMER LIVE 2011 – will once again unite the progressive gaming community.
Many of you are surely already planning your summer travels, which is precisely why I’m writing this post now, and I will also share a bit about what has been occupying my mind. Get comfortable and read on.
What’s it all about?
GAMER LIVE is a summer outdoor festival for gamers, organized by the team of the social network Gamer.ru. It first took place in August 2010, giving rise to a glorious tradition of celebrating the anniversary of our project together with its main protagonists – community members and other concerned individuals.
Only this blog can speak and show more eloquently than me.
What will remain the same?
This year, at the beginning of August, we will likewise offer you to go to one of the tourist bases in the Moscow region to spend 3 unforgettable days outdoors, on green grass, and in great company. Transfers will be organized by buses, accommodation will be for a few people per room, meals will be three times a day, and the program will be busy. The dry law for GAMER LIVE participants is also still in place.
Now for the most interesting part - about this year's innovations.
This year, the format of the event will undergo slight, but I hope, pleasant changes. A "knowledge-based" block will be added to last year's live program in the mornings. Do not confuse it with dreary university lectures which make you sleep soundly. We have prepared several sections for you to register for, based on your own interests.
Each section will be led by a well-known personality in the game development industry, so to speak, a master of the gaming industry, and we guarantee you a non-boring and productive time in their company! As a result, last year's GAMER LIVE summer festival will be transformed into a summer forum for fans of computer games GAMER LIVE.
The living conditions for gamers will also improve. No more wasps, unclosable rooms, and one shower per floor (though that was so romantic…). The number of forum participants will also increase. This year, we expect 200-250 people, which is approximately 3 times more than last year's figures.
The entire forum program will still be based on clan competitions. But here it’s worth giving more details. Firstly, as you might have guessed, there will be more clans, and each of them will be larger. There is an idea for each clan to represent their own game, rather than bear the proud name of, for example, "NooFate's favorite drink."
The idea was suggested by last year's clan of "Witchers," who, with the help of Snowball and the chief Witcher of Gamer.ru – Xandra, adequately represented their favorite game and clinched victory in the overall standings!
And if you behave well, your clan leaders will be none other than the finalists of the first beauty contest among female gamers Miss GAMER. You will not only get to see them in person, but also have the chance to compete shoulder to shoulder for victory in the main quest of the summer of 2011!
An innovation this year will be the awards ceremony for the best top bloggers of Gamer.ru, who have contributed to the life of our project. Everyone will receive their due rewards. So, try hard, friends, it’s all in your hands.
And so that you immediately jot down the two words GAMER LIVE in your diaries for the first weekend of August, I’ll tell you something important.
We will do our utmost to make the ticket for the forum more affordable. And, we hope, that you will be able to purchase it this year at the price of a collector's edition of your favorite game =)
