Halo 3: ODST accidentally released a month before the release date
A bizarre situation occurred in France, where a fully functional final version of the game Halo 3: ODST appeared for sale in several stores just before the past weekend, despite being scheduled for release only at the end of September.
Naturally, all forums were flooded with details of what was in the box, as well as several videos published by fans who launched the game.
At the same time, information emerged that Microsoft, the publisher of the game and manufacturer of the Xbox 360 console for which the game was created, plans to investigate the reasons behind the early leak of the game before its global release, as well as to block the accounts of those players who start this game in online mode.
After some time, the lead manager of the development team, Stephen Toulouse, stated in his diary on Twitter that the company would not ban players who played the legally purchased version of the game. Later, a similar statement appeared on the official game forum. Thus, contrary to initially widespread rumors, Microsoft acted gentlemanly, asking only not to spread any content from the game on the Internet for now so as not to spoil the mood of other gamers who still have to wait a month for the release of this game.
You can find out more about this game on the official community site for Xbox 360 users in Russia or on the English-language official site of the project.
