Kalypso Media celebrates its twentieth anniversary!
The publisher Kalypso Media, founded in 2006 in Worms (Germany), is celebrating its twentieth anniversary. By the way, we have reviewed several of the games that the company has released over its years of operation. Among its most well-known series are Railway Empire and Dungeons, as well as Tropico, Disciples, and Commandos, which originally belonged to other publishers but were later acquired by Kalypso and received new installments.
So, in August, a global anniversary campaign is planned, dedicated to key franchises, fans, and achievements in the fields of strategy and simulation.
“We have grown together with our players, teams, and partners, gradually expanding our reach — from Rhineland-Palatinate to an international audience. Everything started with a small team of enthusiasts and a genuine love for strategic games. Together, we managed to create entire worlds that continue to live and evolve thanks to our communities,” said Anika Tun, Managing Director of Kalypso Media. — “This date is not only an opportunity to look back and assess the results of our work but also an expression of gratitude to our players for their trust, as well as a desire to create exciting strategic projects for many more years to come.”
The 20th anniversary celebration will cover many channels in August, including games, stores, and the community. At the heart of the campaign are anniversary special offers in the Kalypso Store with discounts on all games and expansions.
Starting in August, fans can look forward to special anniversary in-game events in Commandos: Origins and Dungeons 4. Additionally, two special episodes of the development diary for Tropico 7 will be released on media channels, featuring unique materials about the game's creation.
The culmination of the celebration will be the “Avenue of Memories” — an installation dedicated to all memorable releases over Kalypso's twenty-year history. It will be opened at Kalypso Media's headquarters in Worms.
