King’s Bounty: The Legend of the Knight Returns!
Not long ago, Steam users noticed that Fulqrum Publishing published an announcement about an update to the game King’s Bounty: The Legend of the Knight, which is referred to on the service as King's Bounty: The Legend. Players expressed concern regarding the company’s promise to add its proprietary launcher, Fulqrum.
The company claimed that it would not be mandatory to launch the game.
According to the publisher, the new launcher offers the following benefits:
- Access to exclusive publisher offers;
- Free packs of additional materials, such as wallpapers and music from various games;
- A "convenient" way to stay updated on gaming news.
However, players did not appreciate this news.
In light of this announcement, reviews for King’s Bounty: The Legend of the Knight dropped to "Mixed." Additionally, players threatened to boycott other products from the publisher.
Recently, Fulqrum Publishing posted a new announcement.
They wrote:
Last Friday, we announced the addition of the Fulqrum launcher to King’s Bounty: The Legend.

Let’s hope that this time the game update will proceed without any technical flaws. There was already an incident when, after a similar update in 2021, players complained that their saves stopped working. There’s a risk that this could happen again now.
However, the very fact that the game, which is already 17 years old, continues to receive technical support deserves positive recognition. This means that the beloved fantasy strategy will run on modern systems without players having to fiddle with technical adjustments of the old program for new hardware...
