Quick Dictionary of Gaming Slang

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I saw that gimp-soloist, noob, farming in gear for level 20 at level 40, with 5k in pocket and without necessary skills yesterday on the spot."

Not clear? I believe the text below will help you more than enough.

Note:

– The words are generally arranged in alphabetical order, but it’s better to view all words under each letter when searching. For example, "summoner" in various gaming dialects can take the forms "summoner", "samoner", "samonyor", etc. It’s easy to find everything using "ctrl+F".

– Similar dialect collections from WoW, Lineage, Perfect World, Wikipedia articles, and Captain Obvious’s unobtrusive advice were used when compiling this dictionary. Thanks to all of them!

- If someone didn’t find something in this dictionary - write in the comments, I'll add it.

10 characters (or something else) – on the forum, the message length limit is ten characters; therefore, if you need to place a shorter message ("yes", "no", "I am python"), the phrase "10 characters" is added at the end. The idea to create this dictionary was inspired by the following post on the CBT forum:

A noob creates a topic with the question "What is root and fear?", and papas (these are noobs who are just more virtuously skilled in the gaming slang, hence they proudly consider themselves papas) send him to Google. This means they are too lazy to answer a simple question, even if they know the answer. They are proud birds, it’s unbecoming for them to simply respond, first they must send you off. For prophylaxis!

And so, the noob, scratching their head, goes to Google. "What the heck is this root? Okay, let’s try...". They type the word "root" into the search bar. They see the first page of results, and at the top is the notice "Results 1 - 10 of approximately 639,000 for root". Again they scratch their head, deciding to read at least the first few, maybe it’ll work out. Following the first link, they end up in Wikipedia, recalling that he was sent there too and thinks "maybe I landed there". They sit, reading about James Root, a musician and guitarist. They become engrossed in the article, forgetting where they came from...

"Brr, something’s fishy with this root, maybe it’s not the right one" - the noob realizes. "Okay, let’s try fear... What is fear? I think someone said something about it being an English word. Damn, but how is it really written? From which fear? From fear or could it be from fir? Okay, let’s see what’s there". They delve into the dictionary, flipping through the pages. "Taaks! Fear - fear, terror, fright, dismay, horror... Hm... Ah ha! Probably, this is fear, and to fear means to frighten! Sounds right! Well, let’s see what fir... Fir, coniferous tree. Oh crap, someone turned someone into a tree – maybe that's it? And to fear - turn into a tree - this also fits..." And they sit back, scratching their head again...
