Moscow Book Fair 2023: a bit of fantasy.
The latest book fair at Red Square has just closed... Forgive me: I got so caught up with work that, contrary to my usual practice, I didn't even post a promotional post. However, from my perspective, there weren't too many authors worth noting, and the schedule was, as usual, posted just a day before the opening... On the bright side, most of the talks were recorded, and I'll share them with you a bit later.
The weather on the first day was disappointing: it was cold, and then a thunderstorm broke out. Nevertheless, I bought a few things; I got my copy of "Hedgehog in the Fog" signed by Yuri Norstein.
I also attended a meeting with Andrei Belyanin. Of course, I got his autograph on the trilogy "The Sword Without a Name." Here’s the video of the meeting with the author:
While it was pouring rain outside, I went to GUM, where, as in previous years, there were second-hand book dealers.
However, I didn’t buy anything from them: my library is overflowing as it is, plus the prices are high. I was busy on Saturday and Sunday, and I missed the meeting with Vadim Panov. By the way, he hasn’t missed a single book fair, making him the most "constant" author.
But the most interesting events - alas! - were on Monday: two meetings with Sergey Lukyanenko.
I was late for the first one due to work. However, most of the audience had already left because of the downpour.
The second was literally ten minutes after the first, in the neighboring pavilion, under the roof.
Sergey Vasilievich gathered many admirers of his talent: the girl sitting next to me traveled all the way from Tula for this meeting.
If it had been a day off, even more people would have gathered. (Everyone was amused by the photographer, who took incredible poses for the sake of a spectacular shot.)

Of course, I was hoping to see Perumov, Divov, Zlotnikov, Bushkov, Tarmashev, Koretsky, and Sugralinov - alas. Maybe I'll get lucky in September at the next book fair? I'll be waiting!
