Review of the OKLICK Camper Gaming Chair

Greetings to all visitors of Gamer.ru! If you come here often, you might have read my reviews of monitors, laptops, smartphones, and now it’s finally my turn to review a gaming chair.

Honestly, I didn’t expect anyone to bother bringing a sample for review to the Moscow region, but nonetheless, the Camper chair from OKLICK found its way into my hands. So, it's high time to tell you about it.

Design

It is clear that for a gaming chair, design is one of the most important aspects. Additionally, unlike various smartphones, the appearance of chairs can vary significantly, trying to attract gamers with different features.


The OKLICK Camper features a retractable footrest, height adjustment for the backrest (which is not available on all models), stylish armrests that change shape with the backrest position.

It also includes special cushions for the back and neck, which is quite a standard solution for ensuring a comfortable posture. And the ability to adjust the tilt of the backrest and the height of the seating. Unfortunately, there is no adjustment for the seat tilt here. Nor is there a "rocking mechanism," which can be found in chairs of this price category.

I’d also like to point out the relatively light weight of the chair. This is a clear plus if you have to move it around.

In Use

I would like to start my description of working in the chair with its assembly. There is a step-by-step manual, which is generally sufficient. However, there are a couple of moments where it’s not entirely clear which side the parts should be attached to the respective places. These are precisely a couple of points (regarding the T-shaped attachment of the backrest and the footrest) where you need to be very attentive.


In fact, the screws are recessed so deeply that you can only insert the included "key" in the other end, which makes it inconvenient to tighten them.

And finally, the most important part — how does it feel to sit, work, and game in this chair? I would say — quite comfortably. The height of the seat and the tilt of the backrest are adjusted with standard levers (to be precise, the levers unlock the movement of the backrest and seat, and you adjust them yourself — the handles even have informative pictograms).

The backrest attachment is tightened with a "ventil," which can be unscrewed to adjust its height. Convenient — I didn’t have height adjustment on my old chair.

As for the footrest, in my opinion, it is not very useful. Firstly, it extends a rather short distance, so your legs still hang down. Secondly, the attachment feels flimsy. Perhaps it will suit those with a shorter height. But definitely find a store where you can sit in the chair before purchasing to check it out.

In general, it's worth testing any chair this way, since comfortable posture is a highly individual matter. However, the fact that the Camper's design is overall more stable, as the armrests are attached to the backrest, is a fact.

Conclusion

Currently, the OKLICK Camper gaming chair is priced between 10,000 to 14,000 rubles. This is, conditionally, a mid-lower price range. It doesn't have any special enhancements or rich settings, but it is also not a cheap piece of ordinary office furniture. You can spend hours back-to-back in this chair playing your favorite games or working (although it’s better to take breaks, of course).

The model is highlighted by its stylish appearance and light weight. So if these features are important to you — the chair is worth considering.
