Gift Edition Overview + Premiere Report
Yesterday, **November 26** marked the [premiere](http://www.gamer.ru/games/1170-dalnoboyschiki-3-pokorenie-ameriki/posts/26890) of the game **Truckers 3: Conquest of America**. The scale of the premiere matched the scale of the game – as many as nine stores in Moscow, each offering not only the obligatory gifts of a cap and a poster but also the chance to win main prizes - a steering wheel, headphones, and cases. Here’s what the poster looked like that hung in each of the premiere stores:
Sales began at 7 PM, and the prize drawing was at 9 PM. Therefore, I chose a store where there would be something to do for two hours. In the end, I went to MediaMarkt on Kashirka, the very one where the premiere of **Risen** took place. It’s a large shopping center with many surrounding stores (Nastroenie, Technosila, SOYUZ, Eldorado, Mvideo) and quite a few consoles and computers inside the store to play on.
Ten minutes before the sales started, they set up a cardboard with advertising for Gametrix (the steering wheel that was raffled)…
…and five minutes later, they set up a table with caps and posters laid out on it.
At 6:59 PM, the host took the microphone: "The long-awaited minute is almost here! A truck loaded with Truckers 3 discs will appear around the corner any moment now!". And around the corner, a little cart ceremoniously appeared, stacked with 15 discs. Everyone laughed. All three people who had come to the premiere…
That evening, only DVD-box was on sale for 899. The procedure is standard – you buy a disc, check out at the register, go to the promotional table with the receipt, they mark it, and you receive a cap, poster, and a coupon to participate in the main drawing. Here’s the cap:
Caps were handed out in large quantities at Igromir, but I didn't get one then. So I was very happy to receive it. And the poster is simply gorgeous. One of the best artworks I've seen. I liked it so much that after the premiere, I took two more!
Format A2.
The two hours before the drawing passed quickly. An hour and a half was spent exploring nearby stores (I bought World of Goo for 89 at Nastroenie), and the last half hour I played Kung-Fu Panda on PlayStation 3 in fighting mode with a seven-year-old girl. The girl turned out to be a formidable opponent. In the four rounds we managed to play, I won two, and she won two. The next generation is rising...
In the two hours that passed between the start of sales and the prize drawing, the host shouted several times into the microphone, calling people over. Thanks to his shouts, by the start of the lottery, there were already about 11 tickets in the vase. The drawing began exactly at 9 PM.
There were three prizes – one case (a kind of pouch), one pair of headphones (large), and one steering wheel. Coupon number 489 this time won me the Gametrix Viper steering wheel. I haven't tried it out yet…
Along with the steering wheel, they gave a piece of paper that allowed me to bypass security at MediaMarkt. Thus, another premiere came to an end, and another valuable prize was added to my collection this crazy autumn...
The story of the premiere is under a spoiler since not everyone finds it interesting. The interesting part – the contents of the gift edition – begins here! Here’s the DVD-box for Truckers 3 (to be precise, Starcase, like in Alone in the Dark. So, it's a DVD-box with a cardboard sleeve on top that has sharp corners):

The title of the game and the rectangle in the lower-left corner are embossed. Here’s what the box looks like inside:
The same artwork everywhere. Which is very unfortunate, as the artwork from the poster would look beautiful on the game disc. The manual is black and white, quite useful as it lists all the control keys, which are hard to remember at first.
The map of California compared to the size of the box:
The map is great, but I can't understand why it doesn't include San Francisco. Why does one of the most interesting cities have to be searched for by touch?..
But the main thing in the gift edition is the keychain. Metal, on wheels, with a pivoting cab… A stunning piece! I’ve long been looking for something to replace the keychain from the DVD-box of Resident Evil 4, which will soon turn three years old, and now this lovely truck will be on my keychain:
Its length is 7 cm excluding the ring. Quite heavy. The wheels spin!
In my opinion, the DVD-box is worth its money. For 1C, it is generally atypical to include valuable bonuses in DVD-box editions, and it is very nice that an exception was made for its main release. Excellent packaging at an excellent price!
