For quite some time, I've been piecing together bits of the history of GAMER.ru. A lot of funny, sad, and simply educational things have happened on the site during its existence. A huge folder, a vast number of saved images, web pages, logs, and plain old kompromat on half the top of varying degrees of severity, and much more. Unfortunately, as you can understand, I am not allowed to post all of this: it would violate not only the Letter but also the Spirit of our portal's rules.

So let's stick to what is relatively publicly available. Images from semi-closed sources, from a long-forgotten past... ah, who am I even writing this for? Just look and reminisce. Or see how cool it can be here. It depends on the registration date.

This cover was never used by The Gamer's Truth, as it was drawn after the release of the last known issue. We didn't ask anyone, but our readers decided to provide such wonderful support :) It's a pity it was of no use.

...well, there were also not-so-happy times. Legend has it that once the server was simply completely filled up. Luckily, we have a new one now, right?

A winter logo, however. And even earlier, GAMER.ru had no logo at all, and instead, it was written in plain HTML with a large font saying “GAMER.ru.” Oh, it was quite unusual to see a logo in this place for a long time...

There was even a post on Habrhabr, but it quickly rolled into drafts.

Such things can still be encountered today. But the moderators aren't sleeping. The spammer won't get through!

In general, banners are an everlasting source of jokes on the site. I remember exactly a year ago, a couple of days before Gamer Live, a counter for WoW: Cataclysm was hanging on the site. Some, towards the end, knowing about the carelessness of the then programmers, were already preparing to bet: what would happen when it reached zero?

Need I say that it didn't stop but hung for an entire day due to GL?.. :D
