Gamer.ru Past + Traffic
Gamer.ru launched as a project quite recently, but has no one ever tried to start something similar on such a "tasty" domain before?
December 1998. The first attempt to create a gaming site. Unfortunately, there are no images left in the web archive, but it can be seen that the site had a chat, forums, a gaming room, and an "express your opinion" feature.
In 1999, the site displayed a standard coming soon placeholder.
In 2000, the domain was apparently purchased by the "Cursor" studio and on gamer.ru we could have seen the following:
In 2002, gamer.ru somehow redirected to 7c.ru.
- September: requests redirect to www.tiger-gun.ru/
December: to www.yurta-travel.ru/
- Now from gamer.ru we are redirected to www.motelgsm.ru/
It is quite strange that no one launched a gaming portal on such a domain.
2005-2006. The internet agency "Web-build" tries to launch something.
Or perhaps they just bought the domain, and it belonged to them until the launch of the real gamer.ru.
What happened next we already know:)
It's interesting why igromania, ag, stopgame, and others appeared, but the gamer.ru domain was never properly utilized?
