Russians are increasingly gathering their own 'cyber club' at home
Another one news from Avito Services analytics related to games, specifically gaming equipment. The demand for renting consoles, VR headsets, as well as gamepads and projectors (which are used for gaming on consoles instead of widescreen TVs) has noticeably increased in July this year.
The price for such pleasure ranges from one to several thousand per day (depending on the equipment, the quantity, and how far the order is to be delivered to the renter). So, such a solution, when renting a console for entertaining guests at a birthday or other celebration, is much cheaper than buying a console or a VR set, and on the other hand, you don't have to go to a computer club and count time (since rentals in clubs are hourly).
Specifically by the numbers:
The demand for renting VR headsets in July increased by 27.6%. More and more users want to try immersive games and entertainment without buying expensive equipment.
The demand for renting gamepads increased by 43.1% in a month. Many rent gamepads while already having one, but want more to have fun with friends. Although now controllers can be connected directly to a "smart TV" if playing using cloud gaming services.
However, consoles are most frequently rented — in July, the demand for their rental rose by 46.5%. But those who want to have a gaming experience on a large screen that they don't have, often rent a projector along with the console, and this is happening more and more often — in the same July, the demand for such a bundled system increased by as much as 63.8%.
Interestingly, will such a rental scheme make VR more accessible and widespread? Perhaps we will find out from some statistics in a couple of years.
