Clockwork Drakkar Studio has unveiled the first official teaser for the game "Gardariki"

Today, July 28, the Day of the Baptism of Rus is being celebrated. In honor of this memorable date, the Russian video game studio "Clockwork Drakkar" has released the first official teaser for the game "Gardariki." The video immerses viewers in the atmosphere of ancient Russian lands and for the first time unveils a glimpse of the project’s storyline.

"For us, the Day of the Baptism of Rus is not just a historical milestone, but a starting point that defined the spirit, culture, and direction of the entire era. While working on 'Gardariki,' we aim not only to recreate the setting but also to give players the chance to feel this time from within — through the visual language, details of daily life, and atmosphere. The release of the first teaser on July 28 is a tribute to the historical roots of our project," noted Maxim Nikolaev, the Operating Director of "Clockwork Drakkar."

"Gardariki" is a free-to-play online Action-RPG with a third-person perspective and cooperative elements, where historical Rus of the 11th century constantly intersects with Slavic mythology, a world of legends and fairy tales. The game tells the story of the hero's journey and the world at the moment when Rus unites, transforms, and enters the era of Christianization. Players can look forward to exploring an atmospheric ancient Russian world, dynamic battles, cooperative dungeons, and vibrant settlements.

At the center of the plot is the story of the prince's retainer Godun and his comrades from the Novgorod brigade. The script intertwines real historical milestones — the reign of Vladimir Svyatoslavich and the rise of Yaroslav Vladimirovich, the process of Christianization of Rus, and the resistance to external threats — with the rich legacy of oral folk creativity.

Earlier, the project won a competition for the creation of national content from the ANO "Institute for Internet Development". Information about the project is available on the updated game website. Subscribing to the newsletter will give users priority access to closed game testing.

LLC 'Clockwork Drakkar' is a Russian game development and publishing studio, founded in 2023 in Rostov-on-Don. The team consists of 50 specialists. The studio specializes in working with Unreal Engine 5. Development is supported by the Institute for Internet Development (IRI).
