Top 100 artworks of the "Portrait of a Defender" competition
Good night everyone, including the kittens. :-P
After spending an entire evening with news, reviews, and other letters, I acutely desired some drawings. I wanted art, and it had to be the kind that makes you go wow! Well, I found that wow. Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be beautiful!
Not long ago, the official Blizzard website closed the submission of works for the "Portrait of a Defender" contest (the contest was announced here). In short, everyone interested was invited to draw a character, or even a whole bunch of heroes from [Diablo III](/games?search=Diablo III) in a style dear to their hearts. The main thing was that the outfit fit well and the character was recognizable.
There were plenty of people eager to flex their artistic skills, and I followed the contest with interest, as fans sometimes created utterly unreal works. I gradually collected the best of the best into my nest, meticulously selecting the finest artworks, and now I want to share them with you. Perhaps someone will find a source of inspiration, especially since our fan art contest will last for a few more days. ;)
Here presented are exactly 100 of the best artworks from the contest, in my opinion. Why 100? It’s a beautiful number, plus more can’t fit in the post. O_O
They are categorized by theme, and from some, I made wallpapers in the resolution of 1920 by 1200 for those particularly interested, as part of these works are indeed worthy of being on a desktop.

BARBARIAN [BARBARIAN]
A tough guy from the northern lands has grabbed himself the biggest chunk of fan attention with his axe. By my estimation, of the published works, the most fan arts were dedicated to the Barbarian. One might think, a brutish hairy man in a horned helmet, what’s interesting about that? However, nothing could be further from the truth; it turns out artists simply adore him!
DEMON HUNTER [DEMON HUNTER]
A sweet vengeful lady in a hood has lagged behind the axe and sword wielder just a bit. Whether it’s her figure, her piercing gaze, or something else, fans eagerly drew the Demon Hunter in a variety of styles. I suggest you take a look!
MONK [MONK]
Although many had a good laugh about his appearance (beads and beard - a rather amusing combination), the bald dude was drawn far more often than his blonde colleague. A guy like him: he’ll give a monster a punch in the eye and won’t forget to pose for fan art, yes.
WITCH DOCTOR [WITCH DOCTOR]
The shamanistic tendencies of this native have garnered him a solid following: in terms of the number of arts, the Witch Doctor only trails the Demon Hunter and Barbarian. In the actual drawings, he’s often found with zombies, dogs, and other enormous creatures. And his masks are quite colorful, what can I say!
WIZARD [WIZARD]
Although the Wizards in their pompous outfits should have garnered a ton of acclaim and works, for some reason, participants preferred the brutish Barbarians and bare-chested Witch Doctors. Nevertheless, the artworks do not suffer for it, and the Wizard will surely have her revenge in the game for this misunderstanding. We know that much. ;)
TOGETHER
Well, there were also works depicting the entire team together (or at least capturing several classes in one artwork). Agreed, co-op is everything!
