Underground Hideout - The Best Home for Players (Modification Review)

content auto translated from {from}

It's already mid-June, and there are no news about new downloadable mods. I hope fresh information will appear soon. Honestly, I'm not a fan of modifications; they seem to disrupt the picture that the developers wanted to convey to us. Therefore, I don't install them very often.

But I wanted something new, so I started looking at various modifications. I quickly filtered out gameplay-changing and major mods because there are just too many changes in them. I decided to focus on smaller mods, like "new shelters for your character." I also tried new costumes and various skin changes, but I'll talk about that later.

Based on a large number of positive reviews, I decided to focus on the Underground Hideout mod.

I was still skeptical about it; it seemed like it would harm the game more than bring something new. How wrong I was.

At the beginning of the mod, we're greeted with a simple yet interesting and atmospheric quest. The character is put to sleep with gas and immersed in a simulation... And we find ourselves in a maze with traps! But for an experienced wasteland scavenger, they won’t pose much of a problem. After all, we'll have to run quite a bit. Next come the lasers that we must skillfully glide under, etc. Of course, you should try this for yourself. When we finish the quest, the house gets some nice decorations added (the house somewhat reminded me of our apartment in Bioshock 2 Multiplayer, those who played should remember it).

From the very entrance of the hideout, we see how high quality the mod is made. It’s impressive how much attention the mod developers paid to detail. A huge amount of new content and ideas have been added. Models have been created for various remotes, consoles, and switches. Various stands for snow globes, piles of crates, machines that change appearance—this is all standard filler for such mods, it's essential. In the middle of the room is a huge aquarium, carpets are laid out, and there are garlands. Everything has been done to add coziness to the house. We even have greenhouses where we can grow plants. In the control room, there's a simulation camera where we can go through various challenges. The first challenge in nature turned out to be very successful. We are in a hunting lodge. With each new round, we will need to hunt stronger monsters, and of course, we'll be given more powerful weapons. Next to the simulation room is a reactor that powers the whole hideout. Huge turbines are spinning, there's a generator in the water, everything is as it should be. You can open it and get radiation. The settings allow for a monthly purchase of fuel. Well, it all depends on how much energy you will consume. There is a radio and an online store "Red Caravan."

*There is a secret room in the hideout. There, you can find a unique black hunting rifle with a scope and a silencer. The rifle is more powerful than the "Ratslayer," and is very well made. It resembles the Remington R700.*

However, the main value of the mod lies not in all these beauties, but in what developers have done at the programming level. The item sorting is simply a wonderful feature. No more manually shoving everything into boxes. After the items are sorted, you can select the "arrange on shelves" function. Within a few seconds, all our items will be neatly arranged on shelves and racks. You can lay everything out. There's a separate stand for weapons. A very nice feature: all the weapons you've earned in the game hang right in front of your eyes. It can't compare to when it's lying in a chest, reducing the chance that you'll lose something.

Another find of the mod is the addition of mannequins in your home, on which we can dress items of equipment, which will undoubtedly please aesthetics and collectors of various wardrobe items. This feature also adds to the love for the mod.

Overall, this mod turned out very successful; I would give it a solid five. It’s worth noting that this is just an amateur modification. It's pleasantly surprising that there are no bugs or crashes in the mod. It's amazing how many new useful features have been introduced with so few errors. Additionally, there are extensive customization options for the mod.

Below in the video, I prepared a short tour of the hideout

Thanks to MrPatogen for proofreading.

I'm waiting for thoughts on the mod. Please don't comment on issues, bugs, etc. Share that on the site where you can download the mod.

Good luck, everyone, goodbye!
