For those who haven't played this game yet:
Step 1: Download PlanetSide
First of all, you will need the game client.
You can copy it from a friend or download it from the website Akella online (1915 MB).
Step 2: Install the game
Double-click on the downloaded executable file, choose the folder where the distribution will be unpacked, and follow the instructions of the installer.
Step 3: Create a game account
Double-click the PlanetSide shortcut, review the terms of the user agreement, and click the “Accept” button.
Then, in the pop-up window, select “New Account.” Now you need to fill out a small registration form. Be sure to read the tooltips that appear when you click on the input fields for any information, and don't forget to read the very important information that appears after clicking on the “Question Mark” icons next to many items.
When entering your date of birth, make sure you are over 13 years old (if you enter under 13, you will later need to clear the cookies of Internet Explorer, otherwise the system will think you are still a child who is not able to play SOE games). To avoid security issues with your account in the future, it is highly recommended to enter your REAL date of birth so you don't forget it.
“Station.com Alias” – this field is optional; we advise not to pay attention to it. You can immediately check the availability of the Station.com username (login) by clicking the “Check Availability” button next to the login input field.
After filling out all the necessary information and agreeing to the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy, click the “Continue” button. If something is filled out incorrectly, the system will notify you.
If everything is filled out correctly, you will be directed to a congratulatory page, which is better not to close as advised, but click on “My Account” at the top.
Next, the system will prompt you to enter your username and password to access your account management page. After you enter your username and password and get to the account management page, click the lower button “Enter Activation Code.” Select the game from the drop-down list (you need PlanetSide, of course), enter the 20-digit code from the game box (the one located on the small sticker under the disc) or the activation key purchased from the online store, and click “Continue.” For activation keys, you do not need to check the “This is a prepaid card” option.
After successfully entering the activation key, your account with 30 free days of gameplay is registered!
You can close all windows, enter your username and password, wait for the update to finish, and start playing.
