The Second Moscow International Video Games Week will take place from October 29 to November 1 in Skolkovo
«Moscow International Week of Video Games» will return this year and will take place a month earlier — from November 29 to October 1 at the Video Games and Animation Cluster in Skolkovo. However, the website mentions there will also be a "City Program," but information about events in Moscow outside of Skolkovo is still lacking. Even the "Night of Video Games", which took place last year at the VK Play Arena entertainment center, will this time also be in Skolkovo.
There is currently no schedule for the events at the venue, but promises have been made for stands from leading companies and startups from Russia and the BRICS countries, showcasing the latest video games, gaming services, and technologies, as well as in-demand solutions and equipment for the industry. More than 75 exhibitors are expected, ranging from major studios and publishers to indie developers. Among them will also be residents of the cluster, benefiting from infrastructure and incentives that simplify both the work on the games themselves and the related development needs (for example, the cluster has a capsule hotel to save time and money on commuting).
In addition to the "Game Exhibition," part of the event will be the "Business Program" featuring 50+ reports and discussions. There is also no schedule yet, but the main topics announced include: the peculiarities of developing video games and animation with a domestic "cultural code," the development of indie studios and young animation studios, cross-media franchises related by a common narrative, education in the gaming industry and in the field of animation, and the future of animation considering the development of neural networks.
As mentioned above, the "Night of Video Games" will also take place in Skolkovo. So especially energetic gamers won't have to leave the Cluster that evening and can play around the clock, enjoy music, and maybe even win something in tournaments and other competitions.
The "Video Games and Animation Cluster" in Skolkovo is located inside the business center buildings "Amalthea" and "Stratos" at 40 Bolshoy Boulevard. Since there is currently no program or event plan for the Week of Video Games, it is unclear which part of the Cluster will be accessible for visitors to the "Game Exhibition." Nevertheless, admission will be free, although pre-registration on the website through TimePad is required.
