The Winter Season 'Bastion' is already in Warface
The winter season 'Bastion' has started in the online shooter Warface. The basis of the update is the special operation 'Citadel', which consists of two parts, new arsenal additions, the return of the 'Snow Bastion' missions to the rotation, new rewards in PvE and ranked matches, a fresh battle pass, and an updated weapon progression system.
The events of the special operations 'Citadel' and 'Citadel: Rescue' will unfold at the 'Labyrinth' base, where General Lee Wharton is held captive. Players will embark on a journey to a dark fortress city on an island in Northern Europe, crossing a suspension bridge and prison catacombs while fighting against the 'Labyrinth' fighters and other unknown, but dangerous enemies.
The first part of the special operation is a team assault by the 'Delta' squad, while the second is a solo mission for General Wharton in 'Campaign' mode, where the hero has to escape captivity through dark, hidden tunnels and confront a traitor. Players will encounter Easter eggs and secret achievements during the gameplay. This season introduces the ASh-12 large-caliber assault rifle – it fires powerful bullets that stop the target but do not penetrate at long distances and do not damage teammates. Thanks to different types of ammunition, the rifle can be tuned for various short-range tasks. Additionally, the season will delight shooter fans with returning weapons. The M249 Para, Fabarm XLR5 Prestige, Micro-Roni, and S&W M&P R8 have received improvements to match the current relevant models in the weapon meta.
The special operation 'Snow Bastion' has returned to rotation. This season consists of three separate missions – 'Edge', 'Ambush', and 'Zenith' – featuring updated difficulty levels and increased rewards during the winter season. In the PvE store, players can obtain camouflage from the 'Gargoyle' series, weapons, and a butterfly knife. For competitive mode enthusiasts, a new lineup has been prepared for ranked matches: it includes camouflage from the 'Tournament' series and a new Saboteur Knife. The battle pass of the season offers players several vibrant collections for crowns. Among them are the 'Stained Glass' and 'Curse' series, as well as elegant 'Masverk' camouflages. In prestige, four golden weapon models are unlocked, along with additional achievements and boosters.
The weapon development system in the season has also changed significantly. Slots have been removed and modifications work simultaneously, unlocking many more tactical combinations. Moreover, weapons from the new meta can grow without limits: after reaching level 100, they can be upgraded as much as desired by gradually collecting parts and enhancing favorite models.
