Easter eggs dan hal-hal menarik The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim...(Pembaruan yang terlalu kecil)

A month has passed and my friend (Hobo, one of the 15% of players who completed the game in two days, according to this article) and I have found several Easter eggs (well, we weren't the only ones to find them... but still!)

1. Pie.

[There should be a picture here, but my Fraps (More like - I BLANK) couldn't capture it in time... So just make do with what’s below]


Walking past the guards, you can hear the phrase "Let me guess, someone stole your sweet pie?".

This is almost a classic Easter egg in the "Elder Scrolls" game series. In Daggerfall (Daggerfall) it was a question during character creation. In Morrowind (Morrowind) it was a question in the office. And in Oblivion it was one of the stories from the guards (the guard in... what was the name of that city... where that paranoid guy was).

This Easter egg also appeared in [Fallout 3](/games?search=Fallout 3) as a confrontation at a birthday party - during a conversation with the thug Butch, you could choose to give him the bun or not. (see this post.)

2. M'aiq the Liar.

Here he is. In the flesh


He’s in Morrowind

He’s in Oblivion

Hitting M'aiq is bad.

M'aiq and the sweet pie.

In the game, you can meet a character named M'aiq the Liar (Yes, baby), who has been around since Morrowind. And this is despite the fact that 200 years have passed since the events of the previous game (!). (Damn, he’s immortal... Actually, see the video).

He can be found in absolutely random places. The “Clues” and “Excuses” have been replaced by complaints about the new combat system and a philosophical (???) commentary about Winterhold.

In the next encounter, he might speak about snow in Skyrim. But it's still interesting to listen to the old Khajiit:

*How do you know there is a city called Winterhold? M'aiq has not seen it with his own eyes, have you?

Too much magic is dangerous. M'aiq once cast two spells at once and burned his sweet pie.

What does it mean to combine magic? Magic plus magic still equals magic.

I love to watch snowflakes. What difference does it make where they disappear?

Don’t try to block with two swords; you will just embarrass yourself.

Something strange happens to Khajiits when they arrive in Skyrim.

M'aiq is a realist! Why would he care for any mysticism?

These interesting remarks end here, and afterwards you will hear only:

*M'aiq is tired. Go bother someone else.

M'aiq has finished the conversation.

He also says something like

"Werewolves. Bears. Bear-werewolves. Man-bears"

P.S.: M'aiq really loves to disappear unexpectedly (Thanks, Hobo).

P.S.: "M'aiq was spotted beyond the map, in the so-called ‘clouds of Skyrim’, and can also be found at the map edges and near cities." Source.

3. The Headless Horseman.

In the game, you can encounter the Headless Horseman (Hobo met him near Whiterun (which caused fierce butt-hurt for the first one (Hobo: A ghost. With a hammer. Charging straight at you.)). This is a reference to the eponymous novel. If you follow him, you’ll arrive at a cemetery where... you’ll find a treasure (?).

Added: The Headless Horseman appears during the mission “Missing in Action.”

4. Game Book.

Remember in [Fallout 3](/games?search=Fallout 3) there was an experimental RPG on the computer (in the comic publisher's location... Uh). Here there’s a printed version... The book is called “Kolb and the Dragon,” look for it in your city’s shops ;) (Specifically in Jorrvaskr, in Whiterun, or in Solitude... for now... Or just steal/take it from the Companions.) Well, generally this.

5. Russian Localization

In Russian localization, the main companion in Whiterun speaks with the voice of the president-computer from [Fallout 3](/games?search=Fallout 3).

Ulfric sounds like Three Dog Knight’s “Galaxy News.”

Boethiah speaks with the voice of Morrigan from [Dragon Age: Origins](/games?search=Dragon Age: Начало) (and also Sheala from The Witcher 2)... I know, this isn’t an Easter egg, but it’s nice ;)

6. Notched Pickaxe.

In the game, you can find the “Notched Pickaxe” in the World’s End region. “Notch’s Pickaxe” (Aesthetes rejoice, for I wouldn’t have recognized this Easter egg in the Russian localization where it was called “Jagged Pickaxe,” but thank God it's the most well-known Easter egg in TES!), is a reference to the game Minecraft (the developer is Markus "Notch" Persson). The developers themselves mention this game as one of their favorites... Odd, considering the fact that Bethesda and Mojang ended up in court (Doesn't it seem to you that Bethesda rushes there for any reason considering the Interplay history) during the proceedings about the new game Scrolls, which in the opinion of Bethesda's lawyers could harm the previously registered The [Elder Scrolls](/games?search=Elder Scrolls)... in the end.

7. BEARDED?!?

... I know, this isn’t an Easter egg, but it’s nice ;) [2].

8. The old familiar recruiter and Dark Brotherhood.

Lucien and his horse Tenegra.

After one of the Dark Brotherhood quests, you can obtain a spell that summons the character from Oblivion - Lucien Lachance. Lucien Lachance appears in Oblivion (Lucien comes to the player if they have killed an innocent person), where he dies, in Skyrim he is a spectral assassin. You are also given a horse - Tenegra (the black (thing) with red eyes...), who was also in the previous part. If you summon Lachance next to Tenegra, he will recognize his old horse. Also, if you summon him in the Dawnstar hideout when going to kill Cicero, he will provide interesting commentary. After joining the Dark Brotherhood, you get the “Blade of Woe,” from the same Oblivion. Thanks to ZaCon45 for the information and screenshot.

9. The Jester - philosopher and politician.

The jester Cicero from the Dark Brotherhood is probably a reference to Marcus Tullius Cicero, the ancient Roman philosopher and politician.

10. [There should be a quote from “The Lord of the Rings” here, but I don’t remember the quote from “The Lord of the Rings”]

In the fortress city of Whiterun, at the throne of the ruler, Jarl Balgruuf the Elder, there occurs a rather interesting scene, undoubtedly familiar to fans of “The Lord of the Rings” - the advisor tries to persuade the ruler not to believe in dragons and not to send an army to the village of Riverwood, but the ruler does what is necessary.

Also, in Whiterun, there’s another reference to “The Lord of the Rings” - the tavern “Gilded Mare.” The activated quest to find the redguard woman by the group of Alik'r warriors is a search by nine riders for Frodo. The tavern “Gilded Mare” is a reference to the tavern “Prancing Pony” again from “The Lord of the Rings.”

The Goldenglow tree in Whiterun is a direct parallel to the White tree from “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.”

11. Beowulf

Balgruuf the Elder is modeled after Beowulf!11!!110100110

The city of Upper Hrothgar is named after a character from “Beowulf” named Hrothgar. Simple, but truthful!

12. Our fan... who was.

In the house of the Dark Brotherhood faction, read the first book of Cicero’s records, which reference the “enthusiastic admirer” (similar to a toy troll from the movie “Toy Story”) at the Arena in the Imperial City.

13. He wrote a book about it...

You can find a rather funny book titled “The Lustful Argonian Lover” in several volumes. It is notable that the author of this book, Crassius Curio - a lecher, is a character from Morrowind. To give him a quest in Morrowind, you had to undress your character... Although, if you recall, many books migrated from Morrowind and Oblivion to Skyrim. So “I seek, seek, seek…”.

Try talking to a mage named Nelacar at the “Frozen Hearth” inn in Winterhold. If you can’t convince him, he will refer to “the lustful argonian.”

14. Falmer... this word will be repeated throughout the text.

In Skyrim, Falmer exist not as ordinary snow elves but as monsters. (Falmer are mythical creatures that, if legends are to be believed, are distant descendants of the first elves that lived in Skyrim. They were mentioned (if my memory doesn’t completely fail) in TES3 — Bloodmoon.)

15. Alice in Wonderland.

[Here could be Hobo's screen... if by then he had Fraps or...]

When you see Sheogorath, you might be a little confused... He set up a tea party in the woods (in your head). This resembles the Mad Hatter from the work “Alice in Wonderland,” not to mention that Sheogorath is the Lord of Madness and Talent.

Sheogorath can be perceived as our protagonist from the previous installment (Oblivion)... of course, if you completed the “Shivering Isles” expansion.

16. Legends of King Arthur.

There’s a place called the Rebel’s Barrow. You will find a pile of stones with a sword stuck in it. This is a reference to the legend of the Sword in the Stone.

You can find a pond with the skeleton’s hand holding a sword. This references the legend of the Lady of the Lake.

17. Game of Thrones.

The city of Winterhold may reference Winterfell in A Game of Thrones. Both are located in the snowy north, and the leaders (Ulfric and Eddard Stark) of both were dismissed as traitors.

18. Old good... Monty Python.

When watching the execution of Roggvir, he will shout “Come on, move it!” which resembles a scene with the same phrase at the end of “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.”

And during battles, enemies will often shout, “Just a scratch!”, which could be a reference to the Black Knight saying this after having his arm cut off... and the second arm... and then his legs.

19. A small box.

During the quest “Incomprehensible Depths,” you find a small box that resembles the puzzle from the movie “Hellraiser.”

20. Clive Barker.

Babette, the girl from the Dark Brotherhood’s lair, may be a reference to Clive Barker’s film “Night Breed.”

21. Unwanted books.

In the game, you can find (damned) burnt books, like in Fallout 3. (I wonder... will there be “Pre-war books” and a buyer for them? :)

22. Army of Darkness.

At the beginning of the game, one of the prisoners keeps saying, “No, I’m not a rebel, you can’t do this!” - just like in the movie “Army of Darkness.”

23. The Witcher.

In the Whiterun fortress, there is a jarl's daughter, as you get closer to her, she utters the words: “I love meat with blood.” In my opinion, this is a reference to the royal daughter Adda - the daughter of Foltest from The Witcher game, who loved this dish, considered a side effect of spending time in the body of a Striga...

24. Infinite invisible chest.

25. COOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!

In honor of the release of Skyrim Workshop (and Creation Kit...), Valve and Bethesda (I hope I spelled the names correctly...:) launched,.... or rather dropped the Space Module from the heavens...
