These military specialists, directly subordinated to the Supreme Command of the United States, are the best of the best in their fields. They are virtually unknown to the general public. They participate in operations that cannot be allowed to fail—at any cost. They are Tier 1 Operators.
The United States Armed Forces, whether it's the Army, the Air Force, the Navy, or the Marine Corps, comprise up to 2 million fighters. Approximately 50,000 of them are subordinated to the Special Operations Command. The functions, powers, and responsibilities of Tier 1 Operators are much higher than even the best representatives of SOF. Their exact number is classified; however, it is unlikely to exceed a few hundred fighters. Tier 1 Operators are living tools for conflict resolution.
