Bioshock 2 is a first-person shooter set in 1968, eight years after the events of the first game, in the dystopian city of Rapture.
Rapture was created by business magnate Andrew Ryan in the mid-1940s. It was intended to be a home for the greatest minds of Humanity. Unfortunately, that was not destined to happen. In 1959, a civil war broke out in Rapture, claiming the lives of most of the city's inhabitants. The survivors transformed into "Splicers," mutated by a substance called ADAM.
The main character of the game, Big Daddy, a creature clad in a huge diving suit, comes to consciousness with no idea of what has happened to him and Rapture over the last eight years. He must return to the city and find his companion, Little Sister. The main antagonist of the game is Sofia Lamb and her followers, known as the Rapture Family.
In Bioshock 2, Big Daddy has access to plasmids and tonics—genetically modified liquids that give the hero new abilities in addition to regular weapons. For example, after consuming a portion of plasmids, the main character gains telekinetic abilities, and after a dose of tonic, his speed and strength increase.
From the original Bioshock, a couple of the most famous weapons—the drill and the rivet gun—have made their way into the sequel. In the second part, the hero can wield the enemy extermination device alongside a plasmid, significantly simplifying battles with monsters.

The main character of the new game is a Big Daddy, the prototype of all such giants, the only one who has not been deprived of reason and will. In the role of this character, the player will explore the ruins of a dead yet still beautiful city to find answers to numerous questions and destroy the main enemy.
BioShock 2 will feature a multiplayer mode based on the original game. The action of the multiplayer battles will take place during Rapture's heyday. Players will find themselves in the midst of genetic experiments that will later lead to the downfall of the underwater city. As in the original game, heroes will be able to modify their bodies with plasmids and use an arsenal of moves that has been specially reworked for the multiplayer mode.
