The Elder Scrolls universe once again opens its doors to a wonderful world of adventures and thrilling battles. The action of the fifth part of the game takes place in the north of the Tamriel continent, in the province of Skyrim. The world is not bright, as it presents a harsh and inhospitable north, where vast taiga territories coexist with mountain ranges and icy deserts. This is a world for true heroes, and only the strong-willed and spirited can survive in this land.
The plot unfolds 200 years after the events of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Once-exiled dragons have reappeared with their predatory grins, entering a world steeped in vice, and only the last of the dragonborn can stop the invasion of dark forces by defeating Alduin, the dragon god. He will have to learn many things and undergo severe trials that fate, not always kind to heroes, has in store. The vast world is populated not only by humans and animals but also by various creatures and the undead. To survive, one must always remain vigilant. While traveling between cities inhabited by Nords— the inhabitants of the north, one must remember that disaster could be waiting just around the corner. When discovering a new dungeon, one must consider whether to enter. Whether an ancient monster awaits or a new exciting adventure—only the one who dares will know. This is what sets the Elder Scrolls series apart: the freedom of action and choice.
The gameplay of The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is largely similar to TES IV: Oblivion. The player is given a main storyline and an enormous number of side quests. One can temporarily set aside saving the world and just wander around the province of Skyrim, choosing adventures to taste or simply admiring the harsh beauty of nature. The game engine based on Creation Engine produces very high-quality visuals, so the splendor of the northern land will be presented to you in all its glory. Side quests are diverse and can often surpass even the main storyline. In every city or settlement, there is work for a glorious hero, if one just wants it. You can join one of the four guilds present in the game: the fierce mercenaries, mysterious mages, cunning thieves, or deadly assassins. Naturally, each guild has an extensive branch of quests that must be completed. Furthermore, one can take up arms for one of the sides in the ongoing civil war— for the separatists or the imperial forces. In short, everyone will find something to their liking in the world of Skyrim if they just desire it. Develop skills, learn magical techniques, and onward to battle with winged lizards.
