Nostalgic gadget repair simulator ReStory: Chill Electronics Repairs has been released on Steam
The indie game publisher tinyBuild and developer Mandragora have released a workshop simulator for repairing electronics set in mid-2000s Tokyo, ReStory. The project has already generated interest on the platform with over 700,000 wishlist additions and received 96% positive feedback on the demo, which made it into the top 50 at the 'Games Festival' (Steam Next Fest).
ReStory follows the traditions of Mandragora's previous game — I Am Future. It combines a branching narrative of classic story-driven games with a simulation of running a shop combined with an electronics repair workshop from the early 2000s. Players will manage finances, interact with customers, decorate the workshop, hunt for rare parts online, and upgrade their toolkit to disassemble, decorate, clean, and repair portable devices, phones, cameras, music players, home appliances, and other gadgets, many of which are inspired by legendary gaming consoles, including officially licensed Atari systems.
Interactions with each customer can change their lives forever. Will you help a lovestruck student confess their feelings, or will you uncover hidden secrets on the phone of a former gangster? The choices you make will affect the intricate storyline of each visitor.
