The Third and Fourth Days of "RED EXPO" 2024: Photo Report
First of all, I want to address those who believe that holding such events during this time is "dancing on graves" or "feasting during the plague." They say, we have a special military operation; what exhibitions of interactive entertainment can there be? Dear friends, there are no barriers for art, music does not fall silent even when cannons speak!
Remember that during the blockade of Leningrad, lectures on art history were held in the Hermitage, theaters continued to operate, artists painted posters and even paintings, and symphonic music was performed. And currently, a program of cultural events exists in the DPR: alongside military actions! So why can't they be held in Moscow? They can and should! Let's continue!
Of course, on the third and fourth days, the number of visitors increased even more, especially closer to the evening.
The largest crowd gathered around the "Stalkraft" game booth, forming several queues.
At the "World of Tanks" booth, visitors tested their striking power...
... and agility. The latter was very challenging: during my observation, no one managed to catch at least half of the falling parts.
Some controlled a football team on the largest screen...
And others controlled a warship.
Nearby, motion capture was being tested.
Mandalorians were enthusiastically playing billiards with regular people.
A robotic dog was roaming around - or was it a cat?
And when I wanted to take a closer look, it jumped away!
Energy drinks, like in the old days of "Igromir," were delivered by carts: alas, with registration.
The girls danced lively.
Movie lovers did not miss the rare chance to ask questions to a famous director.
Later on the same stage, Jedi and Sith battled;
there was a presentation of a new book. (It is not yet on sale, but it is available for pre-order; it consists of many stories written by domestic science fiction writers and represents not a retelling of the game but an expansion of its world.)
On the evening of the 30th, a quiz took place, and the winner received a prize - a monitor.
Then there was a performance by "Radio Tapok."
Cosplayers prepared for the final, with some costumes being quite the challenge.
And here comes the final parade:
The only Sith demonstrated excellent mastery of two lightsabers (unfortunately, he did not win a prize),
The Empire also left without a prize...
However, Keterik Torm ("[Baldur's Gate](/games?search=Baldur's Gate) - 3") came out, raised his hands, walked away, and... (you'll find out a little later).
They also were not evaluated...
Just like her... ("Love, Death & Robots")
AH, what a... And when she turned her back and walked away, the male half of the audience howled!
The next exit was the best embodiment of the heroine (Karlach, "[Baldur's Gate](/games?search=Baldur's Gate) - 3"): we were shown not only her optimistic view on life but also a possible tragic end.
And finally, the final exit:
The host clearly liked Warboss. Now we just have to wait for the jury's decisions...
Well, this is all clear.
The most massive costume? Then should there be a "lightest" one? Strange, there is no such award...
Two "Best Crafts"...
With the duo, it's also clear.
Third place.
Second place?! For just standing on stage?! I did not see the details of his costume closely, but the exit was... weak, to say the least. What, the prize is only for the costume and not for the costume and the image?! (The only worse one was Robocop, who also received an award: he didn’t even move his hands: stepped out (without his famous gun - an essential part of the image!), stood there, and left.)
First place.
Grand Prix. Whaaat?! I did not understand this at all, and not only me: visit the RED EXPO page on VK and see how many "hearts" are next to the photo of this character compared to the prize-less Karlach - for comparison.
That's unfortunately all. However, let’s be glad that "Igromir" has returned - albeit under a different name! - and await the continuation in the coming year.
Good luck to you all!
