Spring Collection of Tabletop Game Expansions from Hobby World Publishing
I hope no one has forgotten that our website also has a section for tabletop games? This spring, Hobby World Publishing plans to release new localized expansions for its selection of tabletop and tabletop role-playing games. So, fans of board games should take a closer look at the cooperative game "Road Song," which will receive two expansions, and the economic-agricultural strategy "Agricola," for which three card sets will be released. Lovecraft fans can look forward to a standalone scenario for "Arkham Horror" and a collection of adventures for "Call of Cthulhu."
Now, more details about the expansions. The expansion "Road Song: Off the Rails" can challenge even a cohesive team that has already escaped from the cursed train, introducing new rules and cunning ghostly actions into the familiar gameplay. Personal adventure cards with permanent bonuses provide each vagabond with additional tactical opportunities, while the appearance of the mysterious Mooncarver, a ghostly trickster whose visits can turn into either a curse or an unexpected rescue, adds an element of unpredictability and forces players to adapt to sudden twists of fate.
The expansion for the tabletop game "Road Song: Encore," on the contrary, emphasizes reliving the story with a different meaning and a new fate. It opens a full chapter "Bridge of Leaves," dedicated to the personal stories of rescuing the souls of heroes, while a special mode allows you to complete each chapter of the main campaign as a distinct, self-contained adventure. Charred dice and fresh plot twists give the gameplay a frightening edge while still allowing players to return to familiar events in a more flexible format.
The agrarian-economic-family tabletop game "Agricola" will soon be complemented by three expansion sets. "Elder" introduces the spirit of mentorship and continuity - 96 new profession and improvement cards open access to wood carving, roof restoration, and confectionery, while 24 mini-expansion cards "Parents" add family ties and roles, making each game session warmer and richer in details. "Baker" extends the farmer's concerns beyond fields and pens: setting up a tea house, breeding trout in a private pond, and hunting for trophies become as important as sowing grain or raising livestock, while the ability to bake pies opens new ways to strengthen the family's well-being. "Hunter" adds 120 profession and improvement cards related to pasture scouting, game catching, and basket weaving, creating a rich variety of combinations and allowing for unique development strategies. All three sets do not complicate the basic rules but significantly expand the strategic tree, allowing veterans and newcomers alike to find fresh approaches to farm management.
For the card game "Arkham Horror," a standalone scenario "Doomed Filming" has been announced, taking players to a Hollywood set with a sinister atmosphere. The scenario book and 78 cards will immerse players in an investigation of a mysterious force that sows chaos on one of three shooting locations. Three movie genres are available, but remember that the line between fiction and reality is thin, and props can turn into deadly dangers until the director shouts, "Cut!" The adventure is suitable for solo play as well as for a friendly company, easily fitting into other narrative campaigns or being played separately - like a short horror film where each take could be the last.
Tabletop role-playing game enthusiasts can look forward to the anthology "Nightmares of the Digital Age" for "Call of Cthulhu," which contains five scenarios for multiple gaming sessions. In "Hell Hotel," unexpected inheritance turns into a ticket to apocalypse; "Abandoned Ship" transforms a carefree cruise into an icy hell; "Panacea" offers a miraculous cure for all ailments at an exorbitantly high price; "Mohol" sends heroes to an oil rig at the edge of the world, where the depths open a portal to madness; and "The Voice in the Receiver" plunges players into criminal disputes, where a mysterious gang always seems to be one step ahead of the police and competitors.
For a quick start, the edition features ready-made investigator characters, allowing players to dive straight into the game, and each scenario can be played separately or included in a campaign.
All expansions are expected this spring.
