Contenders for Victory
This year, six teams are participating in the tournament final. Among them are well-known teams that represented the Russian server in international competitions and newcomers.
AoeXe has been actively competing in Point Blank since 2010. In 2013 and 2014, the team won the World Championship (Point Blank International Championship). AoeXe were the winners of the Point Blank League 2024 tournament.
Andrei Ilyichev, captain of AoeXe: “The season has been productive: we managed to lose and win. Despite the reduction in the number of seasons, we have managed to gain good form. We are already preparing for the LAN final — calmly, without unnecessary tension. This season, the team has seen some changes: at the beginning of the year, Kirill ‘K1ryaa’ Fedorov joined us, and he has integrated excellently.”
The NCsky team are also “veterans” of esports. In 2011, the team participated in the Point Blank Cyber Series 2011 — the first tournament organized by the official publisher of the game in Russia. In the final, NCsky lost to the team AoeXe (competing under the name RoX.KiS). The team is preparing to make a statement at the Point Blank League 2025.
Pavel Samoylov, player of NCsky: “To be honest, it's a bit sad — we hoped that Bogdan ‘Qusion’ Pazilov would win all the finals for us, but it didn’t happen. But seriously — we played in the qualifiers as best as we could; the lineup remains unchanged. There will still be chances to show ourselves.”
The team who cares? are no less famous esportsmen. They represented the Russian server at the Point Blank International Championship in 2023 and 2025. Together with AoeXe, they secured the top places in terms of Arena Points over two seasons and automatically advanced to the quarter-finals of the PBL 2025 LAN.
Andrei Kalugin, captain of the team whocares?: “The PBL 2025 season has been ambiguous for us. After PBIC, the lineup changed significantly: we were joined by players Daniil ‘Wake’ Grishankin and Maxim ‘Evostation’ Vazhnev, and during the offseason — Arsen ‘Face’ Gavrilov, who returned to esports after a break. We won the first league of the season, but the finals of the PBL turned out to be challenging: we faced technical issues that affected the results. Now we are preparing for LAN with a cool head and competitive spirit — we want to prove that we can do more.”
The teams DarkHorse and A3boots faced each other at the end of last year in the QuickFire tournament final for Point Blank at the ‘RED EXPO’ forum. Luck smiled on A3boots then. This time, the teams will once again find out who the best player in the arena is.
Sergey Moskovsky, captain of A3boots: “The season started hard: we lost players Wake and Evostation, and had to urgently restructure the lineup. Now the team is back in shape, stability, and confidence have returned. We are seriously aiming for the final. We have a coach who helps with analytics, discipline, and mental preparation. There are three newcomers in the lineup, and they have adapted quickly. In such a team, we see potential.”
Nikita Korsakov, team DarkHorse: “The season was tough, but definitely memorable. There were plenty of problems — we didn’t so much solve them as learned to live with them. Yet we reached the final, even though it seemed nothing would help. This is the strength of the team. We are going to the LAN final with a fighting spirit. We are not just in the top-6 — we are here to win. Our preparation for the final is unconventional: we’ve added more rest. The integration of newcomers went smoothly — the new captain quickly found common ground with the team, adding more strategy to the preparation for the final. Now we hold briefings, which we didn’t do before.”
The debutants of the Point Blank League 2025 are team eXcuse. They clinched victory in the tiebreak matches against the more experienced team FlyToMoon, winning three out of five maps.
