Confession of a Tired Admin
This picture kinda hints that the main thing is not experience, but something else...
NEGATIVE PREFACE
Boom-boom-attention! This post contains a great deal of HATRED. No, I’m not a fan of Lurk; it's just that HATRED really oozes from everywhere. Greasy, oily HATRED...
It was evening, there was a lot to do... so much to do, but suddenly a network infection appeared on my computer, so instead of working on yet another article or project, I was hit with KurIT, firewall upgrades, searching for a new antivirus, and updating all my passwords for the various resources I visit quite frequently... right now, I'm pondering how many characters to include in my password to make it for sure more complex than the current fifteen-character one...
I can't stand it when something pulls me away from work and gives me an unexpected surprise headache. Just like now, I’m sitting here wondering where all this Trojan nonsense came from when I don't really go anywhere, don't click on any shady links, and mostly stick to verified resources... I still can't work, but a hellish plan for some kind of scathing article is brewing in my head to find a way to divert my bad mood. So, without further ado, I present to you this 'song of woes'. Nope, there was no danger. We just decided to build a website. About Diablo III, and also about all the other Diablos that exist. It just so happened that I was the first to jump on the bandwagon, and it immediately came back to bite me: the new site was placed on my fragile shoulders, and I've been carrying it for a year and a half... no, I’m not complaining; I sincerely enjoy messing with the site to the point of squealing like a pig, but like any job, this activity has its pros and cons.
For now, nobody knows about the site; it’s not particularly needed. It’s faithfully visited by a couple of disabled folks who have accidentally stumbled upon it and have settled in. It’s not needed by the competitors since they haven't even heard of it. Honestly, it's not needed by anyone, except for the administration, which nurtures and cherishes it. They feed it articles, give it pictures for dessert, happily pet it on the head, and say something sweetly mushy like, 'Grow big, eat for mom and dad and the admin uncle...' then the situation gradually changes, and admins of similar-themed resources start popping by the site. Just to peek at the garden, gloat, or coo. And woe to whoever lands here if it happens to be an adequate admin of an established project. Because in a bad scenario, we get not an adult Diablo fan with a higher education, clear memories of the first Diablo, and a solid understanding of how to spell
