Introducing the esports team Geltek Cyber Team
Sponsoring teams in professional sports by various brands is a fairly standard practice. And esports is no exception. However, creating your own team is already a less common occurrence. Especially when it involves a cosmetics company and the MOBA genre.
However, everything falls into place when you consider that the Geltek Cyber Team (or GCT for short) consists of charming girls who have been preparing for tournaments in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang for a month. Their training is a long-term project with a systematic approach, including match analysis, tactical development, and comprehensive skill enhancement.
“Esports today is a significant part of the modern digital environment,” says Roman Alymov, the director of the esports division and an honorary member of the Computer Sports Federation. “I have been involved in esports projects in Russia for 10 years and see how actively this culture is developing, what prospects it has, both for us and the world. Therefore, we approached the preparation thoroughly. For the participants of the project, it has become an opportunity to build a professional esports career on their hobby. After a month of training, we already see serious progress and are looking at the upcoming competitions optimistically.”
One of the team’s goals is to become a leader in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competitions abroad and to strengthen their presence on the international stage. This will, among other things, give the opportunity to convey the Russian cultural code where there has been nothing like it before. This is why the team’s logo features the Sirin bird.
Continuing the policy of maximum openness, Geltek plans to showcase the “inner workings” of esports on social networks of the team, so that people can follow how the participants of the project train, learn to win, cope with defeats and fears. This will not only allow for a better understanding of what is happening in esports but may also attract more girls to the discipline, inspire those for whom gaming remains a hobby, and enable them to believe in themselves and start their path to a professional career.
