Revan: The Fall and Salvation of the Galaxy

Revan... Perhaps the most recognized character in the Star Wars universe outside the film saga. This name can be attributed with a variety of characteristics, both negative and positive. Think for yourself, he was a Dark Lord, a Great Jedi, a conqueror, and a savior, a hero and a scoundrel. Aside from this, he was a magnificent strategist, always thinking several steps ahead, a leader capable of guiding millions, a master of the Lightsaber and the Force. But what lies behind the scenes of the game Knights of the Old Republic? In this post, I would like to talk about the fan favorite of millions, Revan. So, let’s get started!

Early Years

Almost nothing is known about Revan’s childhood. According to Knights of the Old Republic 2, Revan was born beyond the Outer Rim, approximately in 3981 BBY*. His true name, home planet, and family remain unknown to this day. A few years after his birth, he is deemed worthy of Jedi training.

Training in the Jedi Order

The first known teacher of Revan was Jedi Master Kreia, who taught him all the basics of Jedi mastery. Under her guidance, Revan underwent training in the temple on Coruscant and on Dantooine. Kreia never restricted Revan in his quest for knowledge. After Revan felt that there was nothing more for him to learn from Kreia, he left her and began training under many renowned Jedi Masters at that time, including Master Jhar Lestyn, Master Vrook Lamar, and Master Dorin, from whom Revan learned much about ancient Sith knowledge. After Revan attained the title of Jedi Knight, he realized he had nothing more to learn in the Order.

The Beginning of the Mandalorian Wars

Having traveled to various corners of the Galaxy, gaining fame, respect, and becoming strong in both power and spirit, Revan proposed to the Jedi Council to join the war, which was met with categorical refusal. Despite the Jedi Council's prohibition, Revan managed to gather numerous followers, the first of whom was his friend Aleks Skvinkargesimus. Later, Aleks made significant contributions to recruiting new Jedi.

In 3964 BBY, Revan decided to head to the front lines of the Mandalorian war to gather information. Along the way, he visited various planets, including Taris, Surj, Onderon, and many others. Not receiving support from the Jedi led by Lucien Dreya on Taris, Revan set off to Surj. Leaving behind a large portion of his followers, he went with Aleks to Dksun. Experiencing a foreboding vision, Revan left alone from Dksun. During his absence, Aleks and his group were captured by the Mandalorians and taken to the "Flashpoint," to the insane Mandalorian scientist Demagol.

After gathering information, Revan returned to the Jedi Council and reported everything he witnessed. Despite this, Revan received a second refusal from the Council and then set off on a mission to rescue the Jedi from the "Flashpoint." By the time Revan arrived at the mission location, all the Jedi were already rescued by the fugitive Padawan Zayne Carrick.

Reuniting with Aleks, Revan decided that obtaining the Council's approval for Jedi involvement in the Mandalorian War would not be possible, regardless of any arguments. Therefore, he began more active actions than simple reconnaissance. By this time, more and more supporters began joining Revan, and the media gave him the daring nickname - "Revenant."

The incident on Serraco further convinced Revan that Mandalore needed to be stopped at any cost...

During his first arrival on the planet Katar, Revan, along with the Jedi Masters and the more Force-sensitive ordinary Jedi, felt all the pain and every death from the thousands of deaths on Serraco, when the Mandalorians began bombing this planet with thousands of nuclear warheads. Aleks, rushing to help his "master" and friend, heard only a prolonged: "I can feel!.."

Soon after the bombing of Serraco, Revan sends Aleks to the leader of "Adascorp," who intended to trade exorgoth worms that could devour entire stars. Revan tells Aleks about the danger they pose, while he goes to investigate his next vision. On the Adascorp base, Aleks meets Karth Onasi, Admiral Saul Karath, Lucien Dreya, as well as the Mandalore Ultimatum. Thanks to the intervention of Zayne Carrick and his team, the trading was disrupted, and the exorgoths go after their "creator"'s ship, scientist Kempa, into the far reaches of space.

After the Adascorp affair, Lucien Dreya is promoted to the rank of Jedi Master, which grants him a seat on the Jedi Council. There, he speaks about the split in the ranks of the Mandalorians that occurred on the planet Jebble. He omits, however, that the "split" happened due to a Sith artifact that turned all humanoids into "sentient" Rakghouls. After his inspiring speech, Lucien declares all revenants outlaws and places bounties on their heads. After this announcement, Aleks adopts the alias Malak, and Revan sends him to Coruscant one last time for a secret meeting with the Jedi Masters of the Council. At this meeting, Malak informs Master Vandar about how Lucien Dreya gained his place in the Council and what role he plays in all the events that transpired earlier.

The Mandalorian Wars

After the meeting, Malak returns to Katar, where by that time Revan had established the Revenants base. Following Malak, Master Vrook Lamar sets an ambush for Revan's followers. Surrounding them, a conversation ensues in which Lamar sways a large part of the revenants to his side.

After Lamar's speech, Revan wanted to retreat but saw the Mandalorian Mask under his feet. After Revan took the mask in hand, all the Jedi around heard the screams of the katars and the blasts of blasters: the katars ran towards the sea, pursued by Mandalorians with jetpacks, firing at the fleeing katars in panic. At the head of the Mandalorians stood Cassus Fett, the right hand of Mandalore. Drawing lightsabers, the Jedi rushed to defend the katars, but no matter how hard they tried to inflict any damage on the Mandalorian squad, they could not. Turning off their sabers, the Jedi realized that the Mandalorians and katars were visions of the past. Revan and the Jedi followed the vision to the sea. There, they saw the katars cornered. At that moment, a female Mandalorian intervened, demanding Fett to cease fire. But Fett wanted the entire katarn race exterminated, as they had sullied the honor of the "Mando'ade" and joined the Republic. After this, the arriving Mandalorian ships opened fire on the katars and the Mandalorian woman. The Jedi heard each of the thousands of cries that sounded during this genocide, and thus, Revan’s and the others’ vision ended. Revan held the Mandalorian woman’s mask to his face, delivering an inspirational speech: he vowed that every sacrifice on Katar would be avenged, and that he would fight until all Mandalorians were destroyed. It was at this moment that Revan became Revan, fully entering the Mandalorian War. Hundreds of Jedi across the galaxy joined him when the Council, having heard of the genocide on Katar, officially allowed the Jedi to join the Mandalorian War. Revan became the Admiral of the entire Republic fleet.

After Revan entered the war, the Republic began gradually pushing the Mandalorians toward the Unknown Regions. Revan was an excellent strategist, and Malak was an excellent warrior. Together they liberated Taris, Serraco, and in 3961 BBY fought Cassus Fett near a junction of paths known as Yaga. After battling Fett, Revan destroyed most of the Mandalorian army on Altair. In all the battles, Malak did not hold back and fought with particular ferocity, venting all his rage on the enemies. Revan, on the other hand, tried not to show his fury but fought on par with Malak. All their battles distinctly reflected the Mandalorian fighting style, as well as behavior similar to the Mandalorians: Revan did not spare the weak and despised the indecisive fighters who crossed his path.

In the same year, 3961 BBY, Revan discovered the first Star Map on Kashyyyk, which could lead him to the Star Forge. At that time, Revan knew not the true meaning of the Star Forge, so he simply remembered the coordinates given by the map. Soon after, Revan found an ancient Sith planet named Malachor V. On the surface of the planet, Revan understood the full power of the Dark Side of the Force in this place, but thanks to his will, he managed to resist the Dark Side and not be consumed by it. On the surface of the planet, Revan finds the long-abandoned Trausa Academy. It was there that he discovered the exact location of the planet Korriban, the homeworld of the Sith race. Later, from Kreia's words, it became clear that Revan also learned there was a danger much greater than the Mandalorians. Moreover, Revan also understood that the Dark Side of this planet could be used to his advantage.

At the end of the Mandalorian War, in 3960 BBY, Revan’s fleet pushed the Mandalorian fleet back to the planet Malachor V. Revan's plan was to destroy the remaining enemy forces in one strike. Additionally, Revan wanted to eliminate disloyal republican soldiers and Jedi. By that time, with the help of the Zabrak technologist Bao Dur, a weapon of mass destruction known as the Gravity Shadow Generator was built, which would draw power from the dark side of Malachor. The GSG was later placed as close to the Mandalorian army as possible.

To activate the generator, Revan sent his best general, a female Jedi, Mitra Surik, whom he trusted no less than Malak. This girl later became known as The Exile. While Mitra activated the GSG, Revan faced Mandalore Ultimatum in a final battle, in which he crushed him. In his final speech, Mandalore tells Revan about the Empire of the True Sith, as well as the Emperor who helped the Mandalorians assemble a great army capable of challenging the Republic. Mandalore gives Revan the coordinates of the planet Rekkiad, where he could find information about the Empire. Mandalore dies, and Revan takes his mask.

After this, Revan signals, and Mitra activates the GSG, thereby "pulling" the remnants of the Mandalorian fleet and army, as well as the disloyal part of the Republic’s fleet and army, to Malachor. Aside from destroying the fleet and army, almost the entire planet of Malachor was obliterated and practically turned into a lifeless chunk of rock.

After the War

After Malachor, Revan and Malak fly to the lifeless planet Rekkiad, where they find the tomb of an ancient Lord of the Sith. There, they hide Mandalore’s mask and find a datacron containing information about the planet Nathema - the planet from which all life and the Force was drained by Lord Vishik, who is now the Emperor.

Despite the catastrophic losses on both sides, Revan and Malak were recognized as heroes of the Republic. The Mandalorian clans were so thoroughly defeated that it was nearly impossible to assemble an army capable of opposing the Republic, which fully aligned with Revan's desires. Revan decided to dissolve the remnants of the Mandalorian army and also dismantle their "Basilisks." The defeated and humbled Mandalorians could do nothing but go live in reservations, or band together into small groups to terrorize the inhabitants of various planets. Additionally, lone Mandalorians became Bounty Hunters, mercenaries, or bodyguards, swearing to serve those who pay the most.

All those who praised Revan saw him as a model of excellence within the Jedi Order. Among those who followed Revan into battle were beginning to emerge the teachings of the Sith, with many already being awarded Sith ranks. Among the "fallen" was also Revan’s best friend - Malak. Revan was wholeheartedly supported by the soldiers of the Republic he saved, who harbored a burning hatred for the Jedi Order, which allowed a billion republican soldiers and civilians to die. Their loyalty was so great that they renounced their allegiance to the Republic and the Senate.

After returning to the Republic, Revan and Malak took the remnants of the fleet and flew into the Unknown Regions. To avoid suspicion, they stated that they would be pursuing the remnants of the Mandalorian fleet - those who managed to survive the battle at Malachor. But only Revan knew that the Mandalorians no longer posed a threat and that in reality, they were searching for the True Sith...

With the Emperor of the Sith

Revan and Malak meet the Emperor of the True Sith

After several months of traveling, Revan and Malak find the barren planet Nathema. There they learn about the fate of this planet and the coordinates of the planet Dromund Kaas - the capital of the Empire of the True Sith. Arriving on Dromund Kaas, Revan and Malak present themselves as traders and begin to gather information. After several more months, they decide to meet with the Emperor of the Sith, who, at that time, due to what he did to the planet Nathema, was approximately 1100 years old. Meeting him fully armed, neither Revan nor Malak could take any action against the Emperor’s might. Through the power of the dark side, the Emperor sways Revan to the dark side and tells him of the Star Forge of the Infinite Empire Rakata: the Emperor’s plan was to find the long-lost Star Forge and with its power to turn against the Republic and the Jedi and crush them in an instant. The Emperor tells Revan on which planets the five Star Maps are located, but doesn’t name the exact locations. After this, Revan and Malak, filled with ambitions, set out to search for the Star Maps.

The First Searches for the Star Forge

Revan and Malak return to the Republic and begin searching for the Star Maps. Finding one of the maps, Revan suggests to Malak to betray the Emperor and use the power of the Star Forge themselves to conquer the Republic, and then start a war with the Emperor. Malak becomes Darth Malak, apprentice of Darth Revan.

Landing on Dantooine, away from the Jedi Enclave, Revan and Malak find an ancient mound where they discover an ancient droid. The droid explains to Revan and Malak that in order to access the Star Map, they must undergo two trials. After completing them, they stop near the entrance to the Star Map chamber. Malak warns that once they enter this chamber, there will be no turning back. Revan is undeterred and together with Malak, they enter the chamber. There, they find the Star Map itself. Recording the coordinates shown on the map, Revan and Malak set off for further searches: since Revan found the Star Map on Kashyyyk during the Mandalorian Wars, together they also visit Korriban, Manaan, and Tatooine. While visiting one of the planets, the Dark Side of the Force plays a cruel trick on them: Malak completely forgets about the Emperor and the Empire of the Sith.

Gathering all the coordinates shown by the Star Maps, Revan and Malak head to the Lehon system. Immediately upon arrival in the system, their ship crashes on the only planet in the system. Shortly after the crash, they are attacked by warriors from the tribe of the Black Rakata. Quickly dispatching them with the help of the Force and lightsabers, Revan uses the Force to command one of the rakata to take him to their leader. Meeting with the leader of the rakata, The Chosen One, Revan teaches him Galactic Standard Basic. Talking with The Chosen One, he realizes that none of the local tribe members have access to the Rakata Temple, but The Chosen One promises Revan that he will be able to lead him to the temple if Revan teaches him “strange magic” to resist the rakata elders. Revan vows that he will teach him this.

After his statement, Revan heads to the elder tribe, where he learns that the Elders have many answers to his questions. Instead of destroying them, as he promised The Chosen One, he leaves them in peace. Finding an ancient terminal, Revan studies the history of the Rakata Empire as well as all aspects of the Star Forge's operation that interest him. After this, presenting himself as a servant of light who wants to destroy the Star Forge, Revan asks the Elders to let him enter the Rakata Temple. Fully believing him, the Elders allow Revan and Malak inside the Temple, where they deactivate the planetary shield and fly away from Lehon to the Star Forge.

Leading the remnants of his fleet to the Lehon system, Revan began executing his plan, namely constructing a fleet capable of conquering the Republic. Revan understood the full power of the dark side of the Force of the Star Forge and was therefore reluctant to use it even at 100%. Darth Malak, forgetting about the Emperor, perceived with horror that his Master was unwilling to embrace such immense power. But Revan, unlike his apprentice, knew that the Forge had led to Civil War in the Infinite Empire of Rakata, which ultimately destroyed the Empire, leaving only a small tribe of Elders on Lehon. Thus, Revan did not want this history to repeat itself and disrupt his plans.

After some time, when Revan’s fleet was ready, he personally led it into the Outer Rim, where he presented himself as a Dark Lord of the Sith, thereby igniting the Jedi Civil War.

The Jedi Civil War

In 3959 BBY, Revan sparked the Jedi Civil War, the goal of which was his "desire to end the tyranny of the Jedi High Council once and for all". His first target was the planet Korriban, the ancient home of the Sith. After conquering it, Revan established the Sith Academy in the Valley of Ancient Lords.

Revan’s main goal was to preserve as much of the infrastructure on the conquered planets as possible so that in the post-war period, the Republic could quickly return to a state of readiness, rather than starting from scratch. During the war, many planets defected to Revan’s side, and Revan gladly accepted famous politicians who supported his aims.

After conquering Echani, Corellia, Serraco, and successfully attacking Foreost, where Revan surrounded much of the Republic fleet, he assigned Malak to take the planet Telos IV. During the conquest, Malak ordered Saul Karath, who remained loyal to Revan after the Mandalorian War, to conduct an airstrike on Telos. Karath complied without delay, thereby violating Revan’s plans for "peaceful conquest" for the first time and evoking the wrath of the Republic’s army towards Revan's forces.

After this attack, Revan decides to change his tactics in waging war. Understanding that the side with the strongest Jedi would win, Revan creates assassin squads. These squads secretly penetrate all structures of the Republic, sabotaging the infrastructure and killing prominent republican figures who oppose Revan. In addition, the assassins kidnapped younglings, Padawans, and ordinary Force-sensitive individuals to eventually convert them into Dark Jedi.

In 3958 BBY, Malak began to notice that Revan was too lenient and did not align with his vision of the True Lord of the Sith. Malak challenges Revan to a duel in which Revan severs Malak’s lower jaw. After this duel, Malak was fitted with a steel implant, and his voice became more mechanical and frightening. HK-47, Revan's personal droid, assembled after the battle for Malachor V, immediately after the duel said to Malak that "an ordinary sack of meat cannot defeat my Master." Revan liked this phrase so much that he programmed the droid to address all organic beings in that manner, except for himself.

Revan, just like the assassins, sent HK-47 on various missions. The last assignment for HK-47 on Revan's service was to kill the new Mandalore, who appeared contrary to Revan's old beliefs that the Mandalorians could no longer assemble an army. Although HK-47 killed the Mandalore, he did not return to Revan, as he was reprogrammed by one of the Mandalorian mercenaries.

At the same time, when the assassins were dispatched throughout the galaxy, Revan managed to secure contracts with the Chakra Corporation, as well as form an agreement with the planet Manaan for the supply of kolto to his army’s soldiers.

After securing the contract with Manaan, there was no reason to doubt that Revan's army would crush the Republic, but Revan’s plans were not meant to be...

Betrayal of Malak

In 3957 BBY, the Jedi Council makes a desperate attempt to stop Revan. Luring Revan’s fleet into a trap, a group of Jedi led by Bastila Shan lands on Revan's flagship and pushes him back to the bridge. During the battle between Revan and the Jedi, Malak decided that this was the perfect opportunity to overthrow Revan. Firing a shot from the "Leviathan" at Revan's flagship, Malak seriously wounded him. After this shot, the Sith presumed their leader dead and retreated. For unexplained reasons, Bastila formed a connection through the Force between her and Revan, thereby sustaining his fading life.

Bringing Revan to Dantooine, to the Jedi Order's Enclave, debates ensued in the Jedi Council on what to do with Revan. In order to discover how Revan gathered such a massive fleet capable of conquering the Republic, the Council wipes Revan’s memories and "creates" an ordinary soldier for the Republic army out of him. To keep a constant watch over Revan, Bastila is assigned to him, who in the event Revan's memories return was to put an end to him once and for all.

Taris, Searching for Bastila, and Returning to Dantooine

Almost a year passes after wiping Revan’s memories. He is assigned to the republican ship named "Endor Spire" to guard Bastila, as she was an important figure in the Order and possessed the gift of "Battle Meditation." Darth Malak learns of this and sends his apprentice, Darth Bandon, to capture Bastila. The Sith cruiser attacks Endor Spire in the orbit of Taris. Awakening in the midst of battle, Revan fights his way to the escape pods with the help of Trask Ulgo. Halfway to them, they are contacted by Karth Onasi, who informs them that Bastila has successfully evacuated from the ship. After some time, Revan encounters Darth Bandon, but Trask, ahead of him, blocks the door and delays Bandon for some time, sacrificing himself. Breaking through to Karth, they escape the ship in a life pod and make an emergency landing in the upper city of Taris.

After the collision with the surface of Taris, Karth takes Revan to safety, as he had lost consciousness. In the refuge, Revan experiences a strange dream but does not assign it much weight. After some time, Revan and Karth discover that Bastila has been captured by a swoop gang called the Black Vulkars, and to rescue her, they must win a swoop race. In attempts to save Bastila, Revan and Karth meet with Gadon Thek, the leader of another swoop gang called the Hidden Beks. With their help, as well as with the assistance of the twi'lek Mission Vao and wookiee Zaalbar who joined Revan and Karth, they manage to win the race. But Bredjik, the leader of the Vulkars, was unwilling to relinquish Bastila to Revan, leading to an armed conflict. In this conflict, Revan kills Bredjik, thus attracting the Mandalorian Canderous Ordo and droid T3-M4 to his side. With the help of the droid, Revan steals the codes to bypass the blockade of Taris from the Sith base, and with the aid of Canderous, he infiltrates the base of Davik, the leader of a gang of slavers known as the Exchange. Revan and the team sneak into the hangar, where they find the Ebon Hawk, the ship that once belonged to Revan.

Meanwhile, Malak, who was in orbit over Taris, orders Karath to conduct a bombardment of Taris to destroy Bastila. As the bombardment begins, Kalo Nord and Davik appear in the hangar. A battle ensues, but Nord and Davik are crushed by debris, and Revan flies away on the Ebon Hawk to Dantooine.

Dantooine and the "Training" as a Jedi

Upon arriving at Dantooine, Bastila immediately went to the Jedi Council with her report and subsequently introduced Revan to the Jedi Council. Informing the Council that she felt a slight sensitivity to the Force in him on Taris, the Council withdrew to deliberate on whether they should train Revan in the ways of the Force or not. That night, Bastila and Revan had a vision of Revan and Malak finding some tomb on Dantooine.

The next day, a decision was made to train Revan in the ways of the Jedi.

The training went smoothly and quickly. Ultimately, for Revan to attain the rank of Padawan, he needed to complete three tasks: relaying the Jedi Code, creating his lightsaber, and confronting the source of the Dark Side in a grove near the Jedi Enclave. Quickly succeeding at the first two tasks, Revan heads to the grove, where he encounters a katarn woman Juhani. She had fallen to the Dark Side after killing her Master. After a confrontation with her, Revan manages to bring her back to the light.

Returning to the Temple, the Council assigns Revan and Bastila to investigate the ancient ruins from their vision.

The Second Searches for the Star Forge

The second search for the Forge began with a visit to the Ancient Temple on Dantooine. In this temple, Revan again meets the old droid, who tells him about the "builders " and explains how to access the Star Map. Going through the same trials once more, Revan and his companions gain access to the Star Map, which holds the locations of the other four Star Maps. After recording all the data in the Ebon Hawk's log, Revan returned to the Council and informed them of what he saw. After some time, the Council sends Revan and Bastila to search for the Star Forge.

On their quest, Revan visits the same planets he had previously explored with Malak. On Tatooine, Revan buys his old droid HK-47, helps Bastila and her mother reconcile, and reunites Mission with her brother. Additionally, Revan manages to "reconcile" the Chakra Corporation with the Sand People, allowing him access to the Star Map.

On Kashyyyk, Revan helps Zaalbar resolve his tribe's problem, freeing them from the grip of the Chakra Corporation, and meets Jolee Bindo, who aids him in finding the Star Map in the Dark Valley on the surface of Kashyyyk.

Upon arriving on Manaan, Revan helps the government of the planet and the Republic embassy solve a problem with the Sith, as well as aids Jolee Bindo's friend in obtaining vindication in the case concerning the murder of a Sith Agent. After all of this, Revan is tasked with uncovering what happened at the Republic’s kolto mining station. Revan descends to the depths of Manaan, discovering an ancient giant Furaxa that blocks the path to the Star Map. Destroying the kolto extraction equipment and calming the Furaxa, Revan gains access to yet another Star Map.

During his travels across different worlds, Revan and his companions are constantly pursued by mercenaries and Dark Jedi. Moreover, on one of the planets, Revan encountered the survivor from the Taris bombardment, Kalo Nord, and on another planet, he faced Malak’s apprentice - Darth Bandon. But besides these continuous encounters with foes, Revan also learns from Canderous the history of the Mandalorian War and Revan, as well as Jolee Bindo's story when he was a smuggler. Revan fully restores HK-47’s memory and learns that he was created by himself, and the story of how he transitioned from one master to another. After assisting Bastila in reconciling with her mother, feelings begin to develop between her and Revan. Bastila, fearing that it would lead her to the dark side, decides to detach herself from Revan for a time.

After defeating Darth Bandon, Revan sets out in search of the last piece of the Star Map. During the flight, the Ebon Hawk is captured by the tractor beam of the Leviathan, Darth Malak’s flagship...

The Leviathan and the Truth About Revan

In captivity on the Leviathan

At the moment the Leviathan was dragging the Ebon Hawk, Revan devised an escape plan. As soon as the Ebon Hawk was captured in the hangar of the Leviathan, the entire crew was taken into custody, while Revan, Bastila, and Karth were delivered personally to Saul Karath. During the interrogation, Karath used electric shocks for every answer he deemed incorrect. At this moment, Revan’s feelings for Bastila contrasted with his sense of duty: on one side, he should speak the truth to save Bastila from electric shocks, but on the other side, he should not reveal their mission's objectives. After finishing the interrogation, Karath departed to the bridge of the Leviathan to await Darth Malak's arrival.

Shortly after, one of Revan's companions managed to break into the prison, freeing Revan, Bastila, and Karth. After that, they fight their way to the bridge to Karath to disable the beam holding the Ebon Hawk. Meanwhile, the rest of the team breaks into the hangar, heading directly for their ship to prepare it for departure.

The Ebon Hawk breaks free "from the clutches" of the Leviathan

Breaking onto the bridge, Revan kills Karath, but he manages to say something to Karth, which sends him into a frenzy. Calming him down, Bastila orders Revan to disable the tractor beam. After deactivating it, Revan and the rest of the team start making their way back to the hangar with the Ebon Hawk. Suddenly, Darth Malak appears in their path. During a brief conversation, Malak reveals the entire truth about Revan. Refusing to believe this, Revan attacks Malak. After a brief battle, Bastila herself attacks Malak, and Revan and Karth are ordered to flee the Leviathan. Returning to the Ebon Hawk, Revan and the team escape the Leviathan and jump into hyperspace towards the last planet housing the Star Map.

Continuing the Search for the Star Forge

Landing on Korriban, the team gathers at the center of the ship for a meeting in which Karth reveals who their leader truly is. After everyone expressed their thoughts on the current Revan, a decision is made to continue the search for the last Star Map.

On Korriban, Revan must infiltrate the Sith Academy as a student: passing a small trial grants him access to the Valley of Dark Lords, assigning him under Uthar Wynn. At the Sith Academy, Revan meets Karth Onasi’s son, Dastan: after finding a datapad containing information on Uthar's plans regarding Dastan, Revan manages to bring him back to the light. Having earned sufficient reputation points, Revan is sent into the tomb of Naga Sadow to undergo the final trial to earn the rank of Sith. After traversing the tomb, Revan finds the last Star Map. On the way back, he encounters Uthar and Yuthura Band. Following a brief conversation, Revan engages in a fight with Uthar. After killing him and conversing with Yuthura, Revan manages to bring her back to the light. After this, Revan heads to the Lehon system, right to the Star Forge...

Lehon... again

Arriving back in the Lehon system, Revan and his team crash-land on the local planet. After a more or less "soft" landing, the Rakatan humanoids from the local tribe attack Revan. Fighting them off, Revan makes his way to their village, where he meets The Chosen One again. The Chosen One reminds him of his promise to destroy the Elder tribe and educate him in the ways of the Force. After this conversation, Revan heads to the Elder tribe. The Elder head tells him how brutal The Chosen One is and says that he will allow Revan into the temple if he gets rid of the tribe of the Black Rakata. After killing The Chosen One, Revan returns to the Rakata Temple and enters it with Juhani and Jolee. Together, fighting through the hordes of Malak’s Dark Jedi, Revan manages to reach the roof of the Temple. On the roof, Revan encounters Bastila, who has by that time fallen to the dark side. During the battle, Bastila attempts to sway Revan to the dark side and make him a Dark Lord, while becoming his student and lover. Realizing that this is futile, Bastila retreats, and Revan disables the planetary shield and returns to the Ebon Hawk, after which he leaves the planet.

The Battle at the Star Forge

Revan clashes through the "hordes" of infantry, Sith, and droids at the Star Forge...

Ascending into orbit over Lehon, Karth Onasi contacted the Republic fleet and relayed the coordinates of the Star Forge to Admiral Forn Dodonna. After this, the Ebon Hawk flew straight to the Star Forge. By the time it landed, the Republic fleet had already arrived, and the Jedi had landed troops on the Forge. Fighting their way through the labyrinth of the Forge, Revan reaches the hall where Bastila was meditating and applying Battle Meditation against the Republic's forces. During the battle with her, Revan desperately attempts to bring Bastila back to the light, and at the moment when he almost surrenders, he decides to confess his feelings for her. These words affect Bastila so profoundly that she yields and reciprocates Revan's feelings.

Revan allows Bastila to assist the Republic fleet with her Battle Meditation, while he goes off for the final battle with Malak. Entering the bridge of the Forge, Revan engages in battle with Malak. During the fight, Malak reveals all the power of the Star Forge and Revan's weaknesses. After some time, Malak is defeated. In the last moments of his life, Malak tries to sway Revan to the dark side, claiming that he alone deserves to wear the Dark Lord's mantle, but Revan refuses, stating that he has already chosen his path.

After this, Revan and his team evacuate from the Forge, and the Republic fleet utterly destroys the Star Forge.

After the Battle at the Star Forge

Revan sets out to search for his past...

For two years, Revan remained on Coruscant, attempting to recall snippets of his past life, particularly why he attacked the Republic. He begins to remember a planet torn by lightning and resolves to embark on another journey...
