Alien Shooter 2 is a computer game by Sigma Team that combines the genres of arcade and RPG. The project was released in the fall of 2006 (published in Russia by '1C') in a Russian-language format, and in 2007, an English version was also released. The sequel to the famous game Alien Shooter continues to develop the theme of bloody and brutal extermination of terrifying aliens and other representatives of the subspecies 'ugly creature,' laid out in the first part of the series (2003).
A notable feature of Alien Shooter was the fact that the game was completely devoid of any storyline. At all. The nameless hero, armed with various firearms, ran through locations, eliminating piles of grotesque creatures both outside and inside. Of course, for a project of such a genre, the plot was not a fundamental basis, but in Alien Shooter 2, the developers decided to take a somewhat different path – a plot indeed appeared. It is extremely primitive, boring, and clichéd, but even in times of drought, a crayfish is a fish. From it, players could learn that in a certain underground research complex (whether a laboratory or a mutant production workshop) some trouble occurred that threatened humanity with considerable problems.
That is precisely why a rapid response team was sent there, of which the main hero is a member. The player independently chooses a mercenary from a not too extensive list. The main goal, accordingly, is to eliminate all the escaped monsters and further cover up the traces – the 'monster corporation' with the telling name 'M.A.G.M.A' does not want the public to find out what it is up to.
The appearance of a plot aspect also implies that Alien Shooter 2 has a full-fledged campaign. Although, to be honest, it is not particularly necessary here. The player still has to break through hordes of toothy and ugly humans, leaving a bloody trail and heaps of smoking dismembered flesh behind. Nevertheless, there is one significant difference compared to the first part: in Alien Shooter 2, the hero gains companions. They are not always present on screen, but mass brawls with the help of allies still bring new and incomparable enjoyment.
Alien Shooter 2 is a game developed on the wave of the popularity of its predecessor. Nobody thought that an ordinary arcade shooter would win the love of gamers, but it happened. The second part of Alien Shooter was just as wild, bloody, and insane, while improving in many aspects – graphics, gameplay, and storyline. A good continuation of the popular alien extermination simulator.
