Warcraft and the Abandoned Trolls, Part 1

content auto translated from {from}

I think many have heard, seen, and been in the "closed," abandoned parts of Azeroth that for one reason or another were hidden from players' eyes.

I belong to the category of people for whom this is no less interesting than the main gameplay. Finding, climbing in, touching, escaping from the GM - it's romantic! And this is what I want to share with you today.

Since I don't know how many pictures can fit in one post, I'll start small. Let's choose some well-known "bayan" locations, which everyone knows, but I hope there are those who find this interesting, and let it be unique content for gamer.ru (exclusive, why not! :))

All screenshots in this post were made on the official Frostmane (EU) realm during 2006 using the original client and without any third-party programs, before the release of The Burning Crusade.

If you like this post - don’t hesitate to let me know, then I will gladly continue this series of publications. I have stories to tell!

Now, enough dragging the tauren by the tail, let’s go!

1. Stormwind from the inside

Let’s start with my home capital, Stormwind.

There isn't much to comment on - it's good that it’s not the sewers =) A couple of times this location has been nerfed, but, in my opinion, one could still get in at least during BC.

I’ve always dreamed of getting behind this portal :)

Historically, during the Second War, there was a camp of blood orcs south of Stormwind. As we can see - they ate everything ;)

A small bonus - the outer wall of the city, a view from above.

2. A cottage on the coast

If you swim along the coast for a long time, about opposite the Dun Morogh, you could find this cottage. They say there’s a harbor of Stormwind not far from there now. Anyone seen it?

Inside someone clearly died... Although actually, new Alliance players are born here - and immediately transferred to their starting locations.

3. The metro

But! We will not swim - we will ride the metro to IF.

Who said you can’t jump off a moving train? There’s a lot of interesting stuff there! Interestingly, the water layer there is quite small, so the risk of drowning is very low.

4. The aerodrome and the roof of Ironforge

Let’s take a walk around the city. Yes, bear with me, a bit of nostalgia )

This calls for a FP =)

The highest point of IF. /flex :D

The gates of IF. Later I jumped from here. I crashed. I won’t show you that :P

5. A nobody's farm in Wetlands

6. Old Ironforge

Now let’s stroll inside. Not many screenshots turned out, but honestly, the most interesting parts fit here quite well. Once you could get in from the aforementioned farm, but that’s been nerfed. Here is a method with a hunter's pet and its control, I don't know if this still works.

7. Grim Batol

The area east of Loch Modan - as they say, this is Grim Batol. But there’s nothing there :) It's easy to climb simply up the mountains.

A view of the Dragonmaw gates and the Grim Batol fortress from above. Sorry, we shot at night and there’s nothing visible.

8. Alterac

Since we arrived in IF by metro - we must certainly visit the BG, fortunate that it records right nearby. Let’s head to Alterac. But not just anywhere - to the very top. There’s some tent hidden in the mountains - they are clearly watching us! But it doesn’t matter - we can climb to the roof of Drek'Thar's house and attack from above, special operations style =)

9. Nagrand Arena

We visited the BG, after that we tried the new arenas. But who said we should stay inside? A small piece of Outland was with us before the BC release ;)

The edge of the world in Blizzard style )

10. Miners in the Burning Steppes

Let’s head back to Stormwind, now on a griffon. But on the way, we’ll jump off. Everyone has seen how dwarves fight dragons? I always wanted to help them )

11. Northshire Waterfalls

After battling the dragon, we need to relax in nature!

Interestingly, there seem to be like fish there, but only Peacebloom can be caught from there. And endlessly =) Apparently, that’s the default state of this item and nobody bothered to change it.

In nature, there’s a tent under which you can hide from the rain...

...or just sit by the fire.

An interesting magical water =)

And someone flew by - didn’t jump off the griffon, but that’s up to them. Let them hurry about their business.

A view of the familiar Northshire Abbey from an unusual angle.

That’s all for today, dear viewers! And we will talk about the trolls themselves in the next episode of our show.

P.S. Just don’t mention the interface, I know it was wild and ugly back then - those were the times of fervent experimentation. Since then, my interface has become lovely and convenient ;) Thank you for your attention.
