The Return of Heavenly Forge with Gregory Fulton
Aloha, cyber heroes!
With the release of the trailer announcing the launch of the last three factions in the tabletop game 'Heroes of Might and Magic III' by the Polish studio Archon Studio, I decided to translate an excerpt from the interview with Gregory Fulton, published on the official website of Archon Studio.
- Not only will Zestral appear in the Heavenly Forge. The tabletop game from Archon Studio will include a dark version of Muulich.
- Greg was surprised by the concept art of the Psychic Watchers created by Archon Studio.
- Gregory Fulton shared in the interview that after finishing writing the book HoMM3 Recollections he will work on a less ambitious game. The project Fanstratics was deemed unfinished due to Gregory's declining health.
- Originally, the Heavenly Forge was supposed to have four levels of the mage guild. 2/3-level guilds were also a norm for NWC developers. For the tabletop game, Gregory set a three-level mage guild.
- The battle machine for the Forge was initially the Supply Wagon. In the tabletop game, thanks to Fulton, there will be a Lightning Generator. Now it looks more like a medieval Tesla Coil on wheels.
- For the original Forge, the Resource Storage produced +1 ore. Greg says he wanted to make the Storage upgradeable — it was supposed to produce +1 crystal or +1 sulfur at the second level. The tabletop version of the Resource Storage is four-level — it produces +1 wood, +1 ore, +1 crystal, +1 gems.
- Greg Fulton wanted to introduce an upgradeable Artifact Merchant for the Forge, who would produce powerful artifacts.
- The installation for calling Acid Rain is the new Grail for the Heavenly Forge from Archon, which Greg always wanted to introduce.
- A ditch with toxic waste, reinforced walls, and towers — all of this was planned to be developed for the Forge.
- Gregory Fulton suggested Archon Studio a Cyber Transformer as a second special building. An analogue of the Skeleton Transformer, only much, much more powerful.
- The Forge was not intended for multiplayer. Creatures from levels 5 to 7 were supposed to require gold and resources for hiring.
- It should also be noted that the HotA Crew conducted a large survey of Gregory Fulton. There was a question regarding Clockwork Town.
