Fable: The Lost Chapters is an enhanced version of the game Fable for PC, released in October 2006. The game was developed by Lionhead Studios, with the involvement of the famous Peter Molyneux. The genre of the game can be defined as Action RPG.
The story immediately begins with an unusual turn in Fable: we get to play not as an adult character, but as a very young one. In childhood, we mostly undergo training rather than play, however, this contributes to the overall atmosphere of the game. We find ourselves in our native village, where we have to complete several humorous quests, after which bandits attack the village, kill everyone, and burn it to the ground. A certain Maze saves the young hero, who then takes him to the Hero Guild, where we need to learn heroic skills. Finally becoming a Hero, we gradually complete quests, grow stronger, and learn more and more about our destiny. Fable: The Lost Chapters, as mentioned, is an enhanced version of the original game on Xbox. This is expressed in the fact that the main plot is expanded and quite significantly.
However, Fable is not only good for its plot. The main distinguishing feature of Fable is the personalization of the hero. Almost everything we do affects the appearance of our hero. Aside from obvious actions and preferences, our hero can gain weight from overeating, acquire scars from injuries, and much more. Speaking of actions and preferences, all our deeds tend to lean towards good or evil, and this affects many things in the game: how our hero will look, the attitude of non-player characters towards him, the plot, and the outcome of almost any quest. The preferred weapon also influences the hero: sword, magic, or ranged. For example, using a sword makes us stronger and more muscular. The character advancement system is based on gaining experience points, which are awarded for killing enemies and completing quests. We can spend these to acquire various improvements. By the way, each upgraded skill adds +0.7 years to your age, so one can truly become a great hero only in old age, although there are ways around that.
In addition to the obvious, the game abounds with various pleasant little things. We can get married, buy real estate (or sort of buy), participate in various competitions (chicken kicking, fist fighting), fish, dig for treasure, solve the demon doors' riddles, and more.
All of the above, and much more, creates an unforgettable atmosphere, making Fable a fantastic game.
