Mass Effect 2 is a famous action RPG from BioWare, the second part of the Mass Effect space saga.
At the end of the first part of the game, Commander Shepard is killed by an unknown alien invader from the Collector race. In light of this tragedy, the Cerberus organization launches a project aptly named Lazarus, aimed at resurrecting the main character of the series. While the "Cerberus" tries to bring the great warrior back to life, one by one human colonies disappear from the universe's map without a trace. In all these cases, humanity blames the mysterious Collectors.
Two years after his "death," Shepard suddenly awakens from a coma and immediately realizes that without him and his mighty team, the world cannot cope with the mischievous Collectors. But to rid humanity of this danger, he must cooperate with the Cerberus organization. To this end, he meets with the enigmatic Cerberus leader, the Illusive Man — together they decide that there is no better candidate for the role of banisher of the pesky Collectors than Commander Shepard in the entire universe.
BioWare made several gameplay changes compared to the first part. For example, instead of weapon overheating, the game uses a thermal clip system, and the targeting and character healing systems have been revamped.
New equipment automatically delivers small doses of Medi-gel to the body when necessary. At the beginning of the game, Medi-gel is used to revive severely wounded team members, restore health, and increase shield energy.
The cover system has been redesigned, and characters have reduced shield energy and health reserves. The tactical pause remains, during which players can select weapons and use other tactical skills.
Graphically, the game has also improved. Unexplored worlds that characters can explore for "cheap thrills" are smaller compared to the previous game but are distinguished by more detailed designs.
