Vorcha
Vorcha are a primitive race known for their unique biology and aggressive behavior. They inhabit the darkest and most dangerous places in the Galaxy, such as Omega. Many Vorcha have been recruited as mercenaries by the "Blood Pack" due to their wild nature and ability to adapt to various environmental conditions. The rest of the Galaxy views them as parasites and scavengers, and their presence as an infection.
Biology
Vorcha are the shortest-lived known sapient beings, with an average lifespan of only twenty years. They are famous for their unique biology, which sets them apart from other known species and provides an impressive array of advantages and disadvantages.
Vorcha have clusters of neutral cells, similar to planarian worms from Earth. It is these that grant them limited regenerative abilities and a capacity to quickly adapt to their environment—for example, thickening their skin after a burn or growing enhanced musculature to survive in conditions of increased gravity. The lungs of a Vorcha, found in barely breathable atmospheres, are modified for optimal use of available gases. When a Vorcha is injured, these cells move to the affected area and rapidly (around a week) restore them to form.
They’re always so smiley!
The clusters of neutral cells in Vorcha eventually recover, but this is a slow process. Typically, Vorcha can only adapt to one environment during their short life. However, the fact that these cells replace each other allows them to heal quickly and even regrow lost limbs within a few months.
However, these traits have led to a halt in the evolution of Vorcha as a species. Their DNA equivalent has remained unchanged for millions of years—they have no need to evolve as a species since they can adapt individually.
History
Vorcha originate from a small, hostile, and overpopulated planet whose resources have been nearly exhausted after generations of these rapidly reproducing wild creatures.
Hey, how about we make a deal, huh?
The lack of resources led to the formation of a harsh clan society where competing clans engage in endless war with each other for control over the little that remains. As the population grows, Vorcha constantly fight each other in fierce struggles for essentials. These continuous military actions make each generation of Vorcha stronger and more aggressive than the last. But the constant scarcity of resources keeps Vorcha society at an extremely primitive level of development.
In 2185, some Vorcha on Omega allied with the Collectors, attempting to improve their living conditions.
Society
Vorcha are a primitive, savage people whose society is founded on combat. In fact, fighting for Vorcha, whether in small groups or at the population level, serves as a form of non-verbal communication.
Vorcha have a clan-based societal structure; they prefer to live among their own kind, avoiding solitude or contact with other races. When a clan grows too large, younger Vorcha leave to establish a new one elsewhere.
Vorcha are extremely aggressive, both toward their kin and members of other races who stand in their way. Vorcha who leave their homeworld tend to occupy uninhabited areas of space stations or large ships.
What beauties, they are perfect for starring in horror movies. Without makeup.
Vorcha lack technology for interstellar travel, forcing them to sneak onto ships that occasionally visit their homeworld. These stowaways must hide on alien ships unfortunate enough to visit their planet. As a result, Vorcha make their way onto space stations, although some choose to remain on the rescue ship and play hide-and-seek for the rest of their lives.
Noticing the potential of Vorcha, a Krogan mercenary group called the "Blood Pack" hunts them down, sometimes entire clans, and turns them into soldiers. Vorcha who undergo "training" become stronger, smarter, faster, and much hardier than other members of their species. Even a few Vorcha as part of a mercenary gang give it a massive advantage, and each additional Vorcha exponentially increases the gang’s danger.
Vorcha Worlds
Flett — uninhabitable for most intelligent beings, it serves as a suitable training base for Vorcha of the "Blood Pack." The dense atmosphere, almost entirely composed of nitrogen and devoid of oxygen, is quite fitting for this race. Neither seasoned nor young Vorcha mercenaries need anything but food and water, so nothing hinders them from learning to seize and destroy everything the organization currently fights with fanatical zeal.
Ryll — a planet that will only appeal to Vorcha. The climate is virtually non-existent: extreme heat and a very rare, toxic atmosphere rich in methane and ethane. Scattered across the surface are settlements of Krogan and Vorcha developing scarce resources of tin and copper. The planet's inhabitants are extremely aggressive toward outsiders meddling in their affairs.

Miscellaneous
According to an article published in Game Informer, much of Vorcha's history, including their development of faster-than-light technology, was cut from the final version of the game after Casey Hudson decided it didn’t align with Vorcha culture and their image.
It is often implied that Vorcha are considered ordinary pests. An example of this is the expression "Vorchaing," likely derived from "coyoting" (as rats are also considered pests).
Now players can don the skin of a Vorcha in multiplayer.
Mordin Solus asserts that children born from the union of Asari and Vorcha are allergic to dairy products.
It is possible that the Vorcha prototype is the Jem'Hadar race from Star Trek.
